Being new all this a little confused...

I followed the OP and got it to work using the zip and in the app chg to compatible mode. I never got an error with Play Music off the bat..no errors. When I play a song seems be working again new at this was looking for louder sound originally... In the Viper app I can chg from rock, flat, etc...I may have heard a chirp 1-2 somewhere in there while listening...

So if I have it working via OP do I need to follow BRKotucs route for N6? I am in Sensi kernel on the new phone not stock..

Flashed the zip from op and changed permissions.

Makes no differance to sound in any way flashed with stock 5.0 and elementalX kernel and stock kernel, and the EQ affects nothing not even speakers or headset.

Same here, installed, looks good, states the driver is working, etc... But it has absolutely no effect on audio at all.

I am running on stock 5.0.1

Mine also wasn't working. What I had to do was after installing and before changing the permissions of the kernel with Selinux, I force enabled V4A and then tried Google Play to get the stream errors. THEN I changed the Selinux permissions and restarted. Then it worked fine after that, although I'm still on 5.0.

Thanks for posting this op. This method was the only way I could get Viper to work even when built into certain ROMs atm on Liquid smooth 12/16 build. That rom is already permissive by default with built in kernel though I had to uninstall then reinstall using posted method....Confirmed working with Google play music.

Android 5.0.1 Lollipop N6 stock with leankernel.

Be sure you're rooted with SuperSU and have busybox stericson installed. Install selinux mode changer to force permissive every boot. Install v4a apk as user app like you would normally install an apk from sdcard. Open v4a after install and install the desired driver and then reboot phone when it asks.

Once booted, install the latest (xda forbidden) forbidden app with the initials "L.P. " through the web and open the app and search for v4a in the list. Tap v4a to display the different options and tap tools and then tap install to /system/. When Lucky Patcher asks to reboot to complete install you MUST tap OK.

Only this method made v4a work, in my case, for everything - not just Play Music and Spotify. V4a now works on SoundCloud, Slacker, Pandora, YouTube, Radsone, etc.

Got this working on my N6 and am very impressed. I use Tasker to read texts while connected to bluetooth devices using Text-to-Speech. While Viper is processing I don't hear the text to speech voice. Is there a setting I'm missing or something?

Actually no notification sounds come through either while it's processing.

Renny083 if you don't mind explaining what steps did you take to get it working on your N6? I've literally tried every method I've come across and I cannot get the driver to process on phone speaker.
