Quick question. I'm having a hard time on sinless rom which is like stock. Can I flash those other 2 files without messing anything up.
This is totally working now! Stock + rooted nexus 6 5.0.1, flash all 3 files and it works like it's supposed to. Sweet!I followed this nice gentleman's instructions from the N5 forum, and it's working like a champ:

Tested with Google music, Spotify, and Soundcloud.
Do you have convolver set? It plays a significant role in the overall quality of the sound mod.I flashed those 3 files, opened Viper, installed drivers but it didn't work at all initially. Uninstalled the drivers rebooted and installed again. Now it works. Not sure what the issue was but.. Glad it's working!
Edit: Headset settings work great but I'm not having as much luck with the speaker. "Extra Loud" doesn't do anything. Anyone else?
Both. Fundamentally, it boosts volume and overall audio quality. Convolver seems to do some of the heavy lifting when it comes to tweaking quality to your own personal preference. Extra loud is just that, a significant increase in volume. If I had to pick only one sound mod on my phone it would be this one.Can this be used to increase the volume also or is it just for effects?
"Playback Gain Control" in Headset settings boosts audio through your headset. The default audio level is way too low so I'm glad I found this. I haven't have any luck through the speakers, though I still need to try convolver. Can this be used to increase the volume also or is it just for effects?
I was all ready to flash this until I read the part about changing the DPI to 493. why would that be necessary ?I flashed those 3 files, opened Viper, installed drivers but it didn't work at all initially. Edit again: I figured that one zip edited build.prop and it looks like it changed dpi to 493. Why is that necessary for an audio app and can I change it back?
It isn't and the zip didn't touch the dpiI was all ready to flash this until I read the part about changing the DPI to 493. why would that be necessary ?
Where did you find temaseks profile?Do you have convolver set? It plays a significant role in the overall quality of the sound mod.
As to extra loud, I can definitely hear a difference between moderate and extreme.
I used Temasek's viper4android profile as a baseline, and it works very well.

Here, save your current profile and it'll make a folder for them...then make a new subfolder of the master Viper4android Profile folder entitled "Temasek," then paste these four xml files in that new subfolder. You'll now have the option to load it and tweak it as you see fit (I add an impulse response file to each convolver setting, and also duplicate his headphone setting for Bluetooth...you'll see it is not installed...oh, and for speaker, I change the fire equalizer to classical from his preset vocal boost). Let me know if you'd like the convolver files...good luck...Where did you find temaseks profile?
+1Possible to make the flashable zip remove AudioFX as well?![]()
If you could that would be greatHere, save your current profile and it'll make a folder for them...then make a new subfolder of the master Viper4android Profile folder entitled "Temasek," then paste these four xml files in that new subfolder. Unzip this file, and make a subfolder of the viper4android folder entitled "Kernel"If you could that would be great
Which one do you recommend using?Unzip this file, and make a subfolder of the viper4android folder entitled "Kernel"
That is case sensitive, by the way.
Place the contents of all of the wav and irs files in the new Kernel subfolder.

The DBX 160L files seem to do very well for me, but you literally can play a song track and listen to the change in audio profile on-the-fly. I highly recommend picking one that suits your tastes, since music is such a personal thing.Which one do you recommend using?
Thanks for all your help and input brother. The DBX 160L files seem to do very well for me, but you literally can play a song track and listen to the change in audio profile on-the-fly. I highly recommend picking one that suits your tastes, since music is such a personal thing.
That stated, playing a music track that has a wide dynamic range, as opposed to a 3 chord pop song, will yield more consistent results when playing all types of music.
