I'm not sure if anyone had the same experience. I feel like having dolby atmos/viper4android running on 7.1 vs 8.0/8.1 sounds way better on 7.1. Dolby atmos recently became official for oreo I would figure everything would sound exactly the same but the quality is lower for some reason even though I configured DA & V4A exactly on both versions. So I ended up restoring my backup of 7.1 ROM just because I like the clean loud sound it produced. If anyone else had that experience and also why is the sound quality not the same as it doesn't sound clean on multiple oreo roms I've tried?
I'm total audio freak, and should say that sound a little bit different, not worse, different, and I tweaked it by equaliser for phone speaker, for headphones it remains same crystal clear with same settings from 7.1, maybe versions of Viper is matters?

Team Programmer ViperFX Thanks

Thank you very much for the subwoofer feature; differential surrounds, dynamic system-common earphones very significant effect. Without Viperfx the sound quality has not HRA (High Resolution Audio)
:good:

FYI : if anyone that has Oreo and havent had any luck getting Viper to work properly, Root with Magisk and in the Downloads section of Magisk there are (2) Viper4Android mods, use the 1st Viper4Android FX v1.6.9 (Viper4Android v2.5.0.5). After downloading and installation of Magisk Viper4 Android, just reboot and your done, the module installs the drivers and the apk. I am currently on RR Neo 8.1.0 and i've only tested this method on RR, so i cannot say it works on every 8.1.0 build, But its super simple and again, had NO ISSUEs...

For another option, I have used the following zip successfully on multiple devices, both with Nougat AND Oreo (all LOS based), with and without Magisk or even busybox (ie it includes the install of the drivers). The only thing I have had to do manually to get it working is to delete the inbuilt AudioFX app. You may however need to mess with SELinux, which the Magisk modules would probably do for you, however, that hasn't been an issue for me. To check, simply switch to permissive if it does not work, and if that fixes it, there are many posts in this thread on how to correct that.

Sounds like these two things are missing:

Disable AudioFX:
Settings > Apps > Menu > Show System > AudioFX > Disable

In PowerAmp:
Settings > Audio > Advanced Tweaks
Uncheck the top two boxes pertaining to Volume Control
I couldn't find AudioFx on show system there are only 2 apps audioconnectionservice and profesional audio..
