This is what I did:
Cleaned system for space
Installed Arise 8/11 - Core, V4a 2.5.0.5 & profiles, Atmos, Delete Buffer, Repair SD, qc effects Android O, ICE Sound with PS 12.
Using "The SELinux Swtch" to permissive

Driver is not installed for V4a and no sound coming from Google Music. Other music apps are ok.

Question for you: Are the problems with installing the driver related to BusyBox not installing on Oreo?

Answer for you: Seefood... kidding ... disregard... Jin Yang!!!!!

Update:

This worked and driver installed. We need BusyBox to make everything play nice....

Hello All,

So I am about to buy Pixel XL (probbaly 128GB) for the sheer reason to be able to update to Oreo and to be able select preferred bluetooth code (AptX HD or LDAC). I am planning to pair with my Sony WH-1000XM2 which also support both the protocols or maybe with my car stereo with an AptX HD receiver (too bad Inateck BR1006 is out of stock on most of the sites, so had to look for Astell & Kern XB10 in a reasonable price), so the car connection looks tidy with (almost) Hi Fi audio quality.

As always Viper is a must for any audio lover, reading this thread I am not entirely sure whether it is possible to run ARISE Vipe4Android on Pixel XL 128 GB and what is the level of complexity and success ratio.

Can anyone please share a definitive answer with steps to do it with clarity (for example I am not sure which files I would have to delete in the system partition to make space for V4A).

Thanks for your help.

Ok
I got Viper 4 Android working on my Oreo (8.0) xl by installing magisk, clearing up some space in /system and installing viper through the module downloads in magisk. It's working like a dream.

Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers Legacy app

I also just copied some files from /system to a backup folder, then once installed, moved them back

Is it absolutely necessary to fee up space in /system? How much free did you have when you began installing viper?

TBH this is the one thing keeping me on 7.1 . I just don't want to have to uninstall anything from my phone just to get V4A working on 8.0. I do want 8.0 though because I'm way behind on security updates at this point.

Thanks!
