Please take Dolby Mod/Port Questions Elsewhere....

Guys, this is not the place for troubleshooting using VIper4Android and this other "DolbyDigitalPlus" mod. If you can't get them to work "together" don't post here. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...olbydigitalplus-ported-testing-t3094978/page2

I'm not trying to be rude, but I've not tested this other Dolby mod with or without Viper4Android. As well, I have no intention to test it because Viper4Android is all I need. If you need help getting Viper4Android working on it's own with no other sound mods.... you are in the right place. Trying to combine it with some other mod, you are on your own.

Thanks all!

It works with Dolby mod you just have to install viper first and flash Dolby over the top of it.

No need to install it manually just drop it in and reboot.

Did I miss a change up somewhere? I just had my TMOB 925t replaced and with the exact same build as my first, that worked with every music/media player I know of, now will install V4A drivers WITHOUT a selection of " quality " and it only works with Google play music in compatability mode?
Same exact setup, I've done it 6 times from a full restore with stock tar this morning.
Any input greatly appreciated
Busybox yes
Adapt sound and sound alive frozen, Nu Player unchecked, etc..

Here is how I got Viper4Android working on my stock rooted S6 Edge. This has been confirmed to work on the original S6 (non-Edge) version (see here).

Try it at your own risk. Also, if you don't know how to rename files, place new files under the "/System/" directory, or disable system apps, don't even try to do this. Maybe in the future when we get a true custom recovery we can then create a flashable zip.

Below is what I did to get it to work:
1. Root your phone and install "Busybox". (Search to learn how)
- Example: BusyBox by Stephen (Stericson)

2. Download the latest of Viper4Android APK file and place it under "/System/Priv-app/" folder.
- Better Option: Alternative download to the Viper4Android APK, attached below. (I personaly use this, and others report better success. This Viper4Android version was originally created and post from this thread)
- Viper4Android Official Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223

3. Locate the audio_effect.conf file under "/System/etc/" and rename it to "audio_effect.conf.bak". This is to save a copy of original file in case you need to revert back.

4. Download the new "audio_effect.conf.zip" (attached below) and extract the "audio_effect.conf" from the zip to the "/System/etc/" and "/vender/etc/" folders.
- The "audio_effect.conf.zip" file includes the original stock audio_effect.conf and modified version so you can revert back if needed.

5. Reboot

6. Open Viper4Android and when prompted install the drivers.

7. Using TitaniumBackup freeze/disable the following apps:
  • Adapt Sound 4.0
  • SoundAlive 3.0
8. Reboot once more and you should be ready to use Viper4Android on your new S6 Edge or possibly S6 (untested as this point).

Best of luck!

In case you've never played with Viper4Android or just wanted to try out my effects settings, I've linked them below. In my opinion this can dramatically improve the audio quality with the stock Samsung earplugs.

Effect Profile: S6 Edge 20150402.
NOTE: This is not a flashable zip, you extract the folder into the VIPER4Android/Profile/ directory. Then use the "Load Effect Profile" from within Viper4Android to get them going. Keep in mind this is tuned to my liking, it may not be great for all... but it's a good base to start from.

WOW the difference is really crazy, I was skeptical before but this is crazy good. How has the creator of this app not been scooped up by the likes of one of these smartphone companies?

I remembered to use that version of TWRP posted a few pages ago with link and V4A is working great on my replacement edge(925t). Seems TWRP version is critical for this to install and work properly.
Thanks, Great to have this working again!
