Well I'm living in Mediterranean and even in winter average temperature is 15 degree C so I don't have any issues.

To me it's very reliable even few days temperature drop to 9-10 degree C and with cold hand didn't have any issue.

Only time had issue was July and August with temperature 35 degree C but again those period fingerprint sensor wasn't optimazed as it is from September and after.

To me 9 to 10 attempts is totally successful with one attempt so fingerprint sensor to me is reliable with very high level.

But again I believe ultrasonic sensor by Qualcomm will eliminate any kind issue optical sensor has now.

But keep in mind it's much more expensive than optical sensor even Samsung will use ultrasonic only at S10+ not the regular S10 version.

Biological differences will get different fail rates too. Due to my job I have to wash my hands with alcohol often it makes the finger kind of dry.
Anyway the fingerprint scanner is not acceptable too me.
Sometimes I wonder if the the NEX A would had been a better purchase I guess it would have even better battery life, and in real world performance I would probably not notice a difference. Anyway not many phones are perfect.. it stood between this one and note 9, and in the end it did come to price difference.

Most disappointing thing is that not many people seem impressed with the pop up camera, only the really nerdy people regular people are too stupid to realize what is happening and also realize the purpose of it, they dont even notice it has no notch at the top you know. Times have changes and we have come to a time where people seemply dont care what other people have as smartphone, we have taked for granted that all people have the latest and greatest so people don't put attention to it.

My Previous phone was the Mi MIX 1 and that phone did actually made people give me looks and I was noticeable but with this device no...
So the times when you can brag about a phone is over. At the same time it is kind of intersting times in the smartphone word thanks to the innovation storm from china. But we have also taken a lot of stuff for granted today which make smartphones more boring too.
I still remember the feeling I got with my first smartphone Samsung Note, it really felt revolutionary, and the video camera felt really good, now we take it for granted. Not one single person have asked what Phone I have, you have to ask people to put the phone side to side to notice the difference between theirs then they notice the screen to body ratio.

Alcohol make the finger loosing any moisture witch is necessary finger sensor to recognize you.

Me too after washing my hands with scoop I need few minimum so finger recover their natural moisture and then fingerprint sensor working absolute reliable.

If I tried to use my finger just seconds after had washed my hands with soop or after dishwashing the sensor won't work.

As I said need some minutes to recover moisture.

BUT if your job needed washing your hand very offen with alcohol then probably you should get another smartphone with traditional finger scanner.

And wait smartphone with ultrasonic finger sensor maybe then could not deal with same issue you are having now.

Disappointing results as it is today.

Yes but I dont have this problem with non in screen finterprint scanners... as of right now its just a gimmick, now its not cool anymore since its so common so I rather go back to a normal fingerprint scanner on the back.
Give me a in screen fingerprint scanner in 2020 when they have catch up.

To me one's you go in display finger sensor never go back.
On the back never use it with no one smartphone had it.

I'm going to buy Vivo dual display, when i sell my nex s, it has 3d face scan( uses 300 000 scan dots more than iphone X), faster in display fingerprint, nice back screen, extraordinary back side. i like nubia x too but there is no global rom and bad camera,weak display etc. There are some weak points with this new nex: smaller battery, display and different dac.

How is camera quality for photos and videos of your Nex S? And you talk about a different dac on the dual screen : better or worse?

camera is good video too dont have problem here.(but dont as good as mate 20 pro or note 9) and DAC, dual screen uses similar Dac From NEX A. Dual screen has AK-4377A. VIVO NEX S has CS43199

yes it is, dual screen is more innovative but at launch it is overpriced, i can buy it from 680 pounds. Still like that dual screen thing

PS: I watched the video of the test : it's a pity that the camera is not good for night photos and video in general, I hope that Vivo will improve the quality by releasing new software updates (on the News Site version too)

I recommend dont buy this phone yet. Upcoming CES 2019(8-12 january) lot of new phones, technology going to be annouced. Then price of vivo nex dual display go down rappidly. then is great time to buy this phone + phone software isnt in final stage.

Yes I do totally Agree, especially since Vivo have registred some trademarks recently which suggest new variants is on its way, I have no idea what this new models will include. But I wild guess could be that they will release a bigger variant, maybe in the same size as Mate 20 X., personally I really hope so since I think Nex S is while very comfortable to handle with one hand have too small screen experience, it is kind of obvious that there is "width" lacking in the screen, wich reminds me more like holding a phone like axon 7 or something but with little bit higher screen.
Other variants I have absolutely no clue what they have in store for us.. it will be exciting. Some of these will most likely include Snapdragon 855 aswell but I think first devices will probably not be out until Q1 or Q2.

Some other variants might include Slider design. I think all will be notchless designs since that is the what Nex series is about.

NEX S biggest problem is the price, but its a general problem with Vivo Phones, they fail to reach an attractive price point while their brand is strong in china its not in the rest of the world.

The world are not convinced of mechanical motorized solutions yet its clear, if you look around in polls most people dont want motorized solution, I think as I have said before most people are too scared about the motor to fail. We have to wait 2 years and prove all people wrong when they will see all motors most likely work without problems.

I'm thinking ordering from gearbest as I want this time global version so when you received it I will ask you some questions regarding similarities and differences software aspects between Vivo Nex Chinese version I'm having 5 months now and dual display version global version you'll get.

Some very specific features info and feedback not the known differences like having Google app and Google play store/services out of box or not having Chinese bloatware or using Google digital assistant and not Jovi Chinese digital assistant.
