Hello! I'd like to know how to join funtouch beta os? And why did you return to stable version?

Actually i didn't test Funtouch 9 at all.
Simple pulled out since i don't find current beta testing program useful to me.
For example the high expectations dark mode is actually half baked and bad implementation.(i would had prefer top be truly black theme)
And also most visual changes are Chinese related and not any useful to me.

I will wait the official stable version and shall see what gone do.

Well today received the second open beta of Funtouch 9 and deside to pull the trigger and upgrade after all.

Dirty upgrade over previous Funtouch 4.5 version,not clean install and only extra movement did is clear cache from recovery menu nothing more.

The most visual change is that we have now 4 more fingerprint animation.

Also dark mode but I don't like it at all.

It's actually dark gray but I'm only prefer truly black theme.

Half beked implementation,I've already talked to Vivo support and told them to add truly black theme support just like most OEM offers today.

So I'm continuing using my custom black theme as before and not using native dark gray theme.

Fingerprint sensor works as good as before both accuracy and speed performance.

Now we have also May security patches from April previous official stable Funtouch 4.5.

As for battery life we shall see next couple of days.

General impression and feelings from Funtouch 9 few hours is that too much hype for the nothing,only added fingerprint animation it's worth from the new Funtouch 9 no any other positive new feature.

I would expect Vivo add support third-party app notification on AOD but that unfortunately didn't happened.

No you can't root your phone.
Actually almost everything of Chinese bloatware can be removed via setting-more settings-app.manager-show system and one by one removed them IMO .
For more advanced option removing extra core app like stock browser or email app follow bellow guide.

I'm only aware and using Facebook massenger.
There's email also but I'm not aware of it.

Btw they answer and told me that that's the way it works only stock launcher and stock app have full screen area support and not able to support third party launcher and app.

Well actually it's not such an issue since secondary display majority of users and almost 98% will be used for selfie and stock camera app support full screen support.

For all the other dozens of usage people will use and take advantage of the main display.

Biggest issue is that Whatsapp does not support reply option through notification center pull down.

It's really annoying and told me that gone fix it in next software update.

This is issue with Chinese version I don't know if occur in global or not.

I don't see myself getting another VIVO phone considering they're now selling them with the waterfall edge screens, which I see as a gimmick with no useful purpose. But I have to say this has been a solid performer off and in my hands. I've dropped it three times(solid surfaces) since I got it in June in the year of its release and all it shows is a indentation on the corner metal bezel with no screen cracks.

I like how you can turn off the camera shutter sound; the single button record when it's off, and the two-way phone recording. This phone was designed for spying. Hey it's a Chinese phone! I'll get another VIVO with this screen size when they use a flat screen. For now, this phone is solid.

From eBay but it's not available any more from the seller.

You are lucky,mine device from August last year the second screen stopped turn on on for unknown reason.

It was functional for example touchscreen gestures was working but only getting black screen,never turn on.

Phone never dropped,never liquid,and only 2-3 months light usage did.

And the worst part sent device to seller at Germany location as I'm in Europe (tradingshenzhen.com was the seller) in order to go to China and Vivo service center to be repaired and guess what,we are mid of February 2020 almost 5 months and still they don't have any clue when my device will be returned.

Horrible and totally frustrated service support by tradingshenzhen.com they even advertising that offer 1 year warranty but seems they can't handle it.

Total unprofessional and unreliable behavior from them.

570 euro device cost is on air and probably never get it back.

So from now on never purchase any smartphone if not having official service support in Europe and Vivo is out of my choice in future.

It looks great and works pretty well.
Quick review

Bezeless
Very responsive
Heavy feels premium
No noticeable lag
Dual screen
Vibrant screen
Loud speakers
Good camera
4k 60fps video
Fingerprint very responsive works 9/10 faster then huawei mate 20 pro
Good clear call quality
Install 3rd party launchers very easily
Battery life lasted me all day no sweat

Cons
Funtouch - hardly notice its 9.0
Speakers loud bit low on the bass side
Bit thick
Screen brightness
1080p screen

Overall good innovative phone, could be better but then would be more expensive.
It will be my daily driver for now

No 4K 60FPS video on the Nex DD, I'm afraid. 720p or 1080p at 60FPS, but 4K is only possible at 30FPS.
