Would an OTA upgrade be possible, what would make it global / international? Or do we have to water an account to install it on our own?
Right know there’s no any option convert Chinese version to global.
Vivo has very restrictive policy and not let even flash global rom to Chinese version.

It’s not case of any OTA or different account or region.

Simple Vivo doesn’t allow flashing global rom to Chinese version.

In this video you have the information about global account and how to switch launcher definitively.

That saved me. Search for "careca tech vivo account nex" on YouTube.

Actually you should had being informed before buying that global version is available only with 8/128 hardware configuration.

There’s NO 8/256 global version.

What they do those sellers like Aliexpress is to open device and put manually play store/google services but the rom remaining Chinese as come out of factory and not global.

Actually if you remove all Chinese bloatware(very easily I can say) and do 2-3 fundamentals settings like installing Nova launcher and some steps so app continues work in background and getting notifications the Chinese rom is very responsive, smooth and reliable.

Just some 2-3 missing features from global rom like 2 more app notifications support at AOD and off screen gesture that support WhatsApp instead of Chinese famous messaging app and clone app for example WhatsApp and Google assistant instead of Jovi digital assistant out of box.

Nothing more.

So I guess if these is only the different. Why not we just find out solution on the 2-3 missing feature using 3rd party apps instead of finding a way to install the whole firmware. I think it would be much more easier. Just saying.

Unfortunately it’s not that simple.
For example there’s third party AOD app that support notifications from various app that Vivo not and also offering more customization option but the problem is that consume much more battery and also Vivo off screen gestures does not work with that third party app.

In some situations there’s feature native support is more complete and optimized and working better that third party app.

For aod, im using "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.used.aoe" so far it is okay and can support receiving notification from other apps. This is free and no ads.. Just emailthe developer to get promo codes. It works on chinese version. Im currently using the chinese version.

For clone app can use "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.parallel.intl" but to get rid of ads you have to buy for 9.99USD.

Hope it helps.

Does Vivo native off screen gestures works?
Also how much battery consume.

I tried it but doesn’t seems to work.

No clock visible,no notifications icons,no battery indicator while screen off.

I’ve enabled auto start app, background pop up,notifications to on and put app to high battery consumption.

Only thing lets you is setup through app settings but when closing app does not work at all.

I have tried smart wake screen gesture and it still working. As long as the screen is off. For AOE, you can follow my setting and you have to CLICK SAVE in order for it to work. Also enable all the notification n permission.

Im also using "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.alpha&hl=en_US" for my lockscreen. It works well with my vivo nex chinese version. This apps lets you reply any messaging on the lockscreen it self. If it happens to be cannot be enable, you can go search from home (Im using nova launcher to open the search ) and type "notification" to access notification access and enable the ava lockscreen.

Thanks manage to make it work only when purchased the app.
Trial period didn’t work.

But it’s unfortunately totally useless to me as this app AOD works while lock screen is open not while screen is completely off.

That doesn’t meet my need.

I don’t want to work on lock screen.

The truly meaning of AOD is to show useful info directly on AOD with screen off.

Not open on lock screen.

Just like work on Samsung or LG native it custom AOSP ROM.

So I’ve spent 1 euro purchasing app but does not meets my needs.

Also with this app Vivo native off screen gesture like swipe down open camera or up wake up screen or draw C to open dialer does not work.

AOD is a feature that works better and optimized when natively implement at rom itself and not as third party app.

It’s not like many other app to replace stock one like launcher or browser or majority of other.

Im using this app "Always On Edge" is for the purpose when i receiving notification while screen is completely off. Then it would appear on AOE at first for 8 sec (we can set individual app base on what we want). After 8 sec it will be screen off again until the next 1 min later it would be AOE again. This process will be repeated until we clear the notification. Thats what im using now and it works. Sometimes i miss some notification. The purpose for AOE is to make snooze on notification so that we did not need to open and see if theres incoming notification. Instead we just wait for the phone light up on AOE.

Im not sure why on your device did not work well. You have to play with the setting until you get it right. Always remember to save the setting after you make adjustment okay.

Thanks but I’ve already uninstalled it.
Doesn’t work as I want.
