General Vivo X Fold: tips and tricks

I have Google messages sending and receiving SMS and MMS, and no problem with the phone calls on my T-Mobile. Problem with dropped calls just went away. I use my original T-Mobile SIM which I first used on a pixel 4, and then on my Huawei XS

I just messed around with settings and all of a sudden I did something that got everything working.

I know this is really not much help, other to say it is possible, with a lot of persistence. I long pressed on each icon to get into settings, and just turned everything on.

You would be the first person I've seen without issues. When I try to send any pictures or videos (also on TMobile) they refuse to send unless I use the default messages app or Textra.

Well, all good for me with Google messages with Vodaphone in Australia, did nothing special.

Anyone manage to figure out how to stretch apps to go under the hole punch camera yet? Losing a huge strip of screen when in landscape for many apps defeats the purpose of the large screen. I used to use adb commands years ago to offset the width of pixels so that apps used the whole screen but I can't remember how I used to do it! Samsung and Oppo both allow you to grant apps permission to use the full space of the screen but Vivo don't - so frustrating!

I got the latest May 2022 security update today and now the UI for the brightness bar looks kinda messed up - the brightness slide is too close to the toggle buttons. Any one else?

Do you have a picture of this please? I like to change my DPI to quite high but it will be really annoying if the quick toggle icons and brightness bar is affected. Thanks

Hello guys. Thumbs up to all thank you so much without this thread I would have been lost. You guys helped another in figuring things out.
Now I have a question. I am having issues with Android auto it will never connect. I can connect the the phone to the car via Bluetooth but no luck with android auto. Well it starts connecting and setting up then a red screen shows on the phone saying Android auto has to be part of the system. Any work arround or anyone had the same issue? Thanks.

Sorry bud, don't have a screenshot for you, what I had to do to change it was, after the update, set the DPI to default, and then set it back higher. It seems to have worked for now. I didn't go that high, around 747 only. Seems to be okay now.

Setting -> Display and brightness -> Display at the top of the screen
From there u can choose for each app

I remember a member saying that the problem was his T-Mobile SIM. He went to the T-Mobile store and got a different Sim, I believe one starting with an "R" in the model number, and his texting problem went away. My T-Mobile SIM is very old, originally from a pixel 4. And texting is a cellular network function after all.

By the way, I've been assuming you're using T-Mobile. I cannot recall seeing a post by anyone that got AT&T working properly.

One thing that is bugging me is that when using my Google Fi SIM card, I always get random letters and numbers in my text app. Whether it be Google Messages or the Default Messaging app. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Hi Team X fold - thanks so much for all the help and tips so far. I'm just about to pull the trigger on buying this phone, encouraged by the fact that most of the issues seems to have viable fixes.

I'm not a user of Google messages really, so not too worried about that, the only thing that's a real shame is Android Auto compatibility; which I'm hoping might get fixed in the coming software updates.

I'm in the UK - can anyone here from the UK give their experience so far on Three or o2 networks?
