General Vivo X Fold: tips and tricks

Hey hey was hoping folks have figured this out. I am having these issues: 1. OfferUp won't search or login. 2. Fl studio crashes won't open at all
Regarding chargers, I'm currently using my laptop's USB-C Charger 65W and it charges the phone quite fast.
It is a charger from an HP Spectre X360. Basically, any 65W USB-C PD-compatible charger (with its cable) should work for fast charging.

1500mA can be at 5V or 9V or even 12V...
Anyone had much luck using an ad-blocker/VPN like Blokada?
In my experience even with the app configured for background use if I come back to the phone after a few hours I need to go into the app and refresh the connection. Otherwise, all network access seems to be broke.
The same thing occurs if I just set DNS to something like adguard instead of using an app/vpn. In that case after a few hours I usually need to toggle wifi off/on for network connectivity to work again.

I use AdGuard with pro license and after allowing all background use und lock it in the app switcher it works fine since day 1 (5 weeks ago).
Textra doesn't seem to notify me with sound. I get the text messages but no notification sound. I fixed the default messenger app and get instant notifications through that but I heard that Textra worked for a few people. Any ideas on why I'm not getting the notifications from them? Also, why are only like 25% of my contacts showing up with names? Most are just numbers and I simply cannot remember everyones number. I don't see any differences between the people whose name shows up and the ones that don't. Anyone having this issue?
I've been going back and forth between the default messenger and Textra, finding the only time I get a notification in Textra is when I'm using the app. Just going to use the Vivo messenger until something better and more reliable comes along.
Damn... The default messenger really sucks with gifs and ****..and don't even get me started on group chats lol... Well **** balls. Any idea on the contact issue? I've tried resyncing Google contacts and all of that. Nothing works.

So I am in freaking love with this device. With root, I receive almost all notifications (facebook and telegram are having issues displaying some notifications).
But also I installed pixelify module and the change is rather nice (photos attached). It isn't perfect but there's about 90% functionality on the vivo x fold. I'll talk to the developer to see if there's any further refinements. But sufficed to say it makes me want to see why GSI doesn't work. Has anyone grabbed a logcat to see what the issue is???

It seems that we are definitely the banned ones.. Even the Vivo X80 got its own [email protected], why ?
Right, I have managed to change the internal screen dpi to 1200 (I like it this high because it gives it a high-resolution PC look) and more apps now have the tablet interface (Playstore for example). The outer screen changes to 677. The quick toggles and brightness bar remain distorted (worse in folded state) but the iPhone style right side swipe for toggles and left side swipe for notifications are not affected, so I now use this instead. I also tried the power shade app but found it too clunky. If anyone wants to use a higher dpi than 800, then switch to the iPhone style.
Also, strangely, can't seem to download or side load Call of Duty - doesn't seem to work. YouTube revanced works initially then when you next open the app, it says there's no internet connection. Any explanations for either?
Wow, so my vivo x fold arrived in 3 days into the UK too! Wondamobile were fantastic!!!
Bought it on their website last Sunday and it was dispatched on Monday and it arrived today by Fedex.
However, I'm now a little stuck.
I'm just trying to set it up and I have a registered a vivo account but after logging in, it asks me to bind my telephone number.
This won't work as I have a +44 UK mobile number being based in the UK.
There seems to be no way to bypass this so I can't install Nova launcher etc.
I'm assuming Vivo have updated their security but can anyone advise what I can do?

Try regeristing on a PC that way you can bypass the phone #

I have 5G on the videotron network and forced the 5G radio by using the app "ForceLTE" in the Play Store. I previously used this app to enable 5G for my Oppo Find N and it has worked on both phones with China ROM. I change the settings to "NR/LTE/GSM/WCDMA" under set preferred network type. After a few moments I have full 5G signal.
I also have managed to get all notifications working using the methods described by Greggles on YouTube. I noticed that even though notifications were being delivered, that they would not appear on the lockscreen. I isolated the culprit to be "Smart Notifications" under "Notifications and Status Bar". By turning that thing off, all my notifications started to appear on the lockscreen. I also ensured that "Google Basic Service Management" was turned on under "Accounts and Sync" which seemed to also help with notification issues.
Lastly, I followed the steps to set up a Vivo account to set a default launcher from a 3rd party app also outlined by Greggles. I have been using Niagara for quite some time and it scaled beautifully for outer screen and inner screen (see photo).
I can say that I have tried most foldables (Z Fold 1/2/3, Surface Duo 1/2, Oppo Find N), and the X Fold has so far delivered the best experience so far. It was well worth it. Happy to see many others enjoying too!2

After you get to that setting, select the apps you'd like to wake the screen for when receiving notis.2
These are the instructions (assuming you have BLU):
- Download and install DSULoader located at https://github.com/VegaBobo/DSU-Sideloader
- Download the following GSI rom to your external storage:
I highly recommend the BvS version found on the page as other versions have issues. Download the BvS LOS version to your device. - Configure DSULoader to load the GSI rom (this requires extra steps - through ADB but the app provides the exact ADB command to enter).
- Once DSULoader is configured, reboot. The rom will never load and it will bootloop for 10 minutes (which is plenty of time to grab the boot.img)
- Enter the following commands through ADB while the GSI rom is bootlooping because of the dual screen
- The boot.img will be stored on your computer (rather the location where ADB is stored). You will need to get the boot.img on your device. You can push the file to the download directory or upload it to gdrive and download the boot.img from your gdrive. The next set of instructions can be found https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html or you can read on
- Open magisk manager once the boot.img is on your device. Tap install under magisk and patch the boot.img. Do not select patch vbmeta.img in boot.img
- Once your boot.img is patched move the patched boot.img back to your machine (preferably in the same directory adb resides)
- Connect your device to your computer and run adb boot bootloader
- Once in fastboot, execute the following command:
fastboot flash boot /path/to/magisk_patched.img - Once completed run
fastboot reboot
And you are done

4Hey guys, two days ago I got my X fold delivered. Big thanks to Wonda Mobile for a 3 days delivery from Asia to UK!
Interestingly enough I am getting notifications on I think everything with dark mode enabled! Have not deleted any of Vivo's apps and I have not disabled anything. The only place I don't see notifications, other than calls and smses is the always on display.
I'm in London on Smarty (runs on the 3UK network) and have 5G everywhere I had it with my S21 Ultra (it is even better I think) getting more than 700mbs
I have checked and all UK operators are running their 5G networs on bands supportd by the phone.
The only major problem I have is the connection to my Tickwatch 3 pro ultra gps. The Wear OS app (from play store) will connect to the watch but not go through the setup proces after selecting my google account. Just spins and nothing... Tried with the Chinese Ware OS app but during setup it tells me that for decices otside of China I should use the one from the play store. Any help on this would be helpful.
Regarding notifications I just went and enabled everything in app info notifications and permissions sections for the apps I need and also in the single permissions section.
