Gone down for me with the update but I'm also running some unique customizations with root. My battery has increased surprisingly

So, I switched to T-Mobile, via a family plan. I got my SIM card in the mail today and seemed to get everything setup. Texts and SMS work as they should, luckily, using Textra.

However, I have no data. It shows I have data, both upstream and down, in the status bar, but I can't view websites or do anything in any app. I've updated the APN settings listed in a previous post, but they didn't give me data. I have an R15 SIM, so that's not the problem. Any ideas?

Well you are well ahead of me with all of this, having the phone already, key information/details, and confirmation from Business Tech support... further than I got, even for an answer with Rogers two days ago.... YES glad to hear you lodged a complaint to both maybe CRTC will force their hand, how they can sell a $$$ expensive phone like that and not have that key VoLTE supported on it, looks real bad on Vivo and the carriers, Ugh! Curious to see what Vivo Care developers are going say when they respond to my email about this from Friday.

Really sad about this, as I guess I am stuck with the Samsung Fold 4 as my best option,
on the plus side, at least the software multi-tasking will be better and get a s-pen, but I really don't like the narrow form factor.
I really appreciate your practical experience, and information on this frcraig, real shame about the lack of VoLTE on this phone in Canada!
Fellow Canadian jumping in on this discussion.

I am with both Rogers and Vidéotron here in Quebec. After the whole Rogers debacle earlier in July, I grabbed a second line with Vidéotron for a song. Both providers give full 5G support in Quebec. Neither provider provisions VoLTE which was disappointing as well. I guess we can conclude that across the board, none of the Canadian providers will provision VoLTE for our device.

Thanks for sharing. Yes VoLTE is dead with Vivo here with Canadian carriers... a real shame!

frcraig (XDA member) has had a lot of experience with trying to get to the bottom of this issue and appreciate him sharing his insight, efforts, and information he has found on this issue with VoLTE on the Vivo's, her on XDA.

Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2 with its slim thickness and wide form factor on the other hand is a possible option and apparently we can enable the VoLTE on it, it just doesn't look as durable as the Vivo.

Sorry to hear that Canadian operators are still stuck in their ways...
Regarding the durability of the Mix Fold 2... It is a foldable after all. Durability is not much into the formula...
I have had three foldables to date: The Galaxy Fold 2, the Huawei Mate Xs (the best device I have ever owned! Just that Google issue is spoiling everything), and now the Vivo X Fold. I have been very careful with all of them... Those types of phones are just not for ordinary pocket use on the Worksite/Beach...

Well from what I understand, it is Vivo trying to save some money, or not making enough from the Canadian market to warrant licensing it (paying them) with the limited Canadian carriers, who have somewhat a monopoly on cellular service.

Yes very clear that foldables are not the most durable, though from what I have seen so far, looks like the Vivo X Fold is the most solid hardware phone and the Mix 2 from what I have seen, seems a lot more susceptible to damage because of being so thin.... but I may be wrong. I carry my phone in my right cargo pant side pocket, and careful where I take it and I have never had a problem with on my current driver since 2016, so not to worried about me breaking it, although it is always a possibility.

Yes, I hear that about the MateX, shame about the Google ban as you say, as Huawei does make some great phones

I've had the Mate X, Z Fold 3, Oppo Find N and now this and it is, hands down, the best phone I have ever used. After installing Ad Blocker, debloated via ADB, installing Nova Launcher Prime and getting YouTube Pro with microG working, you wouldn't realise it was a Chinese ROM. In the UK, all network functions are accessible - at least with the Three Network. Only gripes are the size of the selfie camera punch out on the inner screen and the lack of full screen apps drawing underneath the punch holes. If it had a DeX like function - this would have been perfect. As it is, I won't be going back to a slab phone anytime soon ...

The Mix Fold 2 looks stunning but it's thinner and lighter because of the lack of wireless charging, a periscope camera lens and a slightly smaller battery. Also, the lack of an inside camera, albeit rather large on the X fold, is a big turn off since MS Teams is a major requirement for my use and the large screen is perfect for it.

I was also using nova prime for a while but ever since finding Total Launcher, all others are dead to me 😁
Attached are my two home screens. I made them very basic but I like it that way. You can customize the hell out of this one and create same really unique themes if you take the time.
...And Yes, I'm a Spiderman fan... Deal with it 🤣😋

If you like the very small icons on the front screen, it is fine. I just like the outside screen to be as close as possible to a normal phone as I mostly use it folded. I open it only when looking at videos, websites, and other things that would require a bigger screen to be enjoyed.

Yeah, I've always preferred small icons. I have my DPI set at 1200!

I read that the Vivo X fold has an ir blaster but I can't find the remote control app anywhere on the phone. Anyone?
There's no native app installed. I use Mi Remote from the playstore.

Well, it seems that I have skipped the last update and got a more recent one. Now all apps can be added to the sidebar and can be put into floating windows, which is just great.
i went to their forum, nagged about their OS and lacked of multiwindows features and finally they listened.

I have had a chance now to try the Fold 4, Vivo X Fold, the Oppo Find N and the Xiaomi Mi Fold 2. Overall, I think hardware wise, the Vivo takes the cake. Software wise, the Xiaomi is much more usable as an English-only device (except the stock keyboard). The build quality is solid and it came with a really nice case in the box. The Oppo offered the least amount of customization, but the small form factor has its place and was really great on a recent trip when space in pockets was tight. I am most disappointed with the Fold 4, as it barely seems different than the Fold 3, which was a lukewarm device for me in the first place. Vivo will gladly be my daily driver.

Wow, thank you so much to let them know and please tell them to add horizontal split screen for all apps :)
i already did, maybe they are working on it. i don't know. well, i hope they are taking their customers feedback seriously.

Could you please provide the link to the exact one? Ultrasonic fingerprint scanners are picky especially with glass tempered screens and I definitely don't want the UV glued ones.
Here you go, I bought the Edge glue.

Finally successfully root my X Fold.
System Version is 15.7, here's my original boot.img without patch, hope this is useful to you guys.

And this is the 15.7 OTA package link which I intercept by wireshark.

And is there anyone know how to connect Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 to Vivo X fold?
Tried for a few hours, but didn't get any solution.

Hey guys, two days ago I got my X fold delivered. Big thanks to Wonda Mobile for a 3 days delivery from Asia to UK!
Interestingly enough I am getting notifications on I think everything with dark mode enabled! Have not deleted any of Vivo's apps and I have not disabled anything. The only place I don't see notifications, other than calls and smses is the always on display.
I'm in London on Smarty (runs on the 3UK network) and have 5G everywhere I had it with my S21 Ultra (it is even better I think) getting more than 700mbs
I have checked and all UK operators are running their 5G networs on bands supportd by the phone.
The only major problem I have is the connection to my Tickwatch 3 pro ultra gps. The Wear OS app (from play store) will connect to the watch but not go through the setup proces after selecting my google account. Just spins and nothing... Tried with the Chinese Ware OS app but during setup it tells me that for decices otside of China I should use the one from the play store. Any help on this would be helpful.
Regarding notifications I just went and enabled everything in app info notifications and permissions sections for the apps I need and also in the single permissions section.
Ask me for specific things and I might be able to test them for you guys.
