Question Vodafone UK - no 4G+/5G

Could of just switched to the global rom , would of got the same result.

I tried that, and the EEA rom, didn't work.

I managed that i get 4g+ on giffgaff network so i guess its only vodafone uk issue .
I will keep it as the speeds are good when 4G+ its active . Dont even bother about 5G .

Just tried a Global version, and 4G+ works fine.

So moral of the story, it's not just about the LTE bands it supports. I'll know for next time!

By the way , what service you used to test speeds ?

Giffgaff use O2 network right? So different networks have different bands...

I tried, it seemed the global or EEA version didn't update the qualcomm modem files to enable CA for my network.

I have china version of Mi11 Ultra with stable xiaomi.eu ROM, and few days ago when I was on the trip near mountain (Diamond Hill, Ireland) network provider (Tesco Mobile Ireland (O2 base network? ) I notice on my phone that I was connected to 5G network, but didn't have time to check what band I was using at that moment, and later it changes to 4G+.

I am on O2 and got these speeds sitting outside Cafe Nero Tottenham Court Road London. I'm on the China ROM with all bloatware removed. It switches over to 4g and 5g readily and not had an issue with connection at all.

Vodafone UK is one of the reasons why I chose to buy a global device due to the different bands supported via hardware by the global and China version. With the global I connect to 5g (at least this is what the indicator shows) consistently and testing multiple times I get all the range of speed between ~200 and ~500Mbits

I have Chinese variant with Eu room weekly installed on it. Vodafone UK works quite well with 5G network. Actually I switched from Three network because sometimes it would not connect internet. So far, there is nothing wrong. Let me know if you need any settings from my phone to compare.

Honestly I think the global rom has better 5g signal here in uk with Vodafone, on Xiaomi EU I wasn't getting the same results, probably because it's on Chinese firmware. The problem I have with global rom is that I can't use my phone as a Hotspot when I enable 5ghz band
