Is there any technical reason why showing modem switcher won't work?
I followed your guide and am able to get VoLTE showing up in the mobile network settings section, but get stuck on being able to run the modem switcher activity.
This issue probably with QuickShortcutMaker with Z3. we Z2 users have no issue with creating the shortcut for Modem Switcher and using it.
try App Shortcut Maker . its working well with Z2

Thanks will give that a go. I also tried making an activity shortcut with Nova Launcher, but that didn't work either.
I don't know technical parts, but I have discovered that if you wipe Dalvik-art and Cache (via Recovery) the Modem Switcher shortcut/app works one time (only), and allows me to pick new modem. After reboot, the Modem Selector then flashes blue, FC without opening.
If I repeat wipe, the modem software shows default modem file. Maybe a permissions issue or modem is selected during app optimization? I don't know, but have made sure system RW and followed instructions closely.
I also tried renaming the VoLTE modem (256k) file with name of my default modem file (original 776k), and allowing MM to select default. Didn't work with tmob in USA with D6603. Running Fragment ROM v2 (291), Gustavo's modified stock kernel.
Just want to report here as well. Managed to get VoLTE working on the D6603 Z3 thanks to these instructions. In Canada on the Rogers Network. Running latest build of Marshmallow and using "Generic GLOBAL" firmware. I had a few more details on the Z3 specific thread on that side of the forums. It's pretty much these instructions in the first post.

After selecting the VoLTE modem and enabling VoLTE (seems to work) I can't open CustomizationSelector anymore. Just force closes now. Any simple fix?

If u had taken those apk from this thread then u would have gotten VoLTE on icon on status bar and incoming call ui icon like attched in screenshot !

Oh... Didn't realize that. I had modified the files myself a while ago and they were still on my phone's memory card. Was lazy and just grabbed it from there
Maybe I'll try your files later the next time I'm experimenting with stuff.
There must be another step for Z3 as the modem won't stick and customizationselctor crashes. Renaming the files also doesn't work.

Download sintel Singapore fw.
That version support VoLTE by just changing modem in z3.
Confirm model no with your before flashing.
but only works for d6653. or else u have to find baseband for d6603.
