Volume Buttons not working

Just got this phone today at Best Buy so I can return it. But, the volume buttons on the phone do nothing. They don't turn the volume up or down. Any simple thing I'm missing here? Just checking before I return it in the morning....

I think it was simply a hardware issue. I never could figure this out. I got a new RP2 this afternoon and it's working as it should. The volume buttons work!
