If any of you are like me, you've been waiting for an external button activation mod for the camera shutter. It's done! runandhide05 has it posted over @ Rootzwiki. You can use either the vol up or the vol down rocker to snap photos or to start/stop video. He has 3 zip files posted for download. Use vol-up, use vol-down and a restore zip to return the rocker to normal operation if you don't like it.
I installed the volume down zip (I have no need to turn down volume on this phone it is quiet as it is IMO) and it works great. Also, since the zip does dis-able the vol up or down function of the rocker, all you have to do is press the other rocker and set the volume from the screen slider that shows up on screen.
Take the time to thank runandhide05 for his work if you use and like his work.
Edit: Users take note: If you use the vol down rocker for the camera, it disables other functions of vol down. This means you will not be able to use the vol down/power to enter download mode for things such as using Odin. Although it is certainly easy enough to flash it back to normal in CWM if the vol down is what you prefer for the camera ....
I tested it myself and you CAN still hold down vol center (up+down) to get to the bootloader/recovery from a power off state. I thought about it and that was a scary prospect not to be able to enter recovery from a power off mode if you have a bad flash!! Like I said, tested it here and all is good.
