i find this thread funny because 80% of the posts are like "Oh this looks good."

What do you mean it looks good? The human eye likes oversaturated colors. This is why in a blind test most people will pick the 140% Gamut SAMOLED screen over a 96% gamut IPS screen. We love pushed colors. So how do you know someone's "oh this looks good." is good?

Shrug. Even the guy with the "professional photographer." I'm a professional photographer too, so how do you know my eyes are better? Nikon cameras yield richer colors while Canon yields more accurate traditional photograph pictures. Sony gives insane dynamic range. I mean honestly, they're all different, and it's hard to say a professional photographer will give you the best colors.

I won't deny that most settings here are better than stock colors which are totally off, but has anyone done a color calibration with a calibration utility say like a Spyder? If anything that has far more say on color accuracy than anything else.

Is there anyway to make these settings stick after reboot. I love the way it looks but when I reboot it goes back to stock.

Maybe its just a personal thing, or maybe it's my display, but I found these colours far too punchy and more towards the warm end. Just a personal thing though.

I know what looks good in terms of color accuracy, I've done a color accuracy test two or three years ago (while I was doing a batch of tests for my eyes).

Spent a few hours arranging colors from deepest color to lightest color, then the other way around and more tests like those.
I scored the perfect score, which in itself is rare enough. Let me tell you that there's jackshit we own properly calibrated.

As you mentioned, consumer products are oversaturated by a longshot, if they're not insanely too washed out because contrast > color accuracy for most people. There's also a lot of yellow present, more than there should be, because the eye sees yellow (actually yellowish/green) much better than other colors.

That said, I cannot say I dislike the look of something slightly oversturated and with a boosted contrast. It helps for the immersion when the blacks look pitch black under all lighting conditions. That's something to consider when using a mobile device. It's not really meant to be calibrated more than it is meant to look good in various situations.

Thanks for this ^^^ way better for me than anything else I found. Looks almost like the stock colors which i liked anyways. On the v1 gamma hack I used the defaults instead of the punchy settings, worked better for me.

With the following settings in Voodoo, I can leave my back light very low, like around 10-15% almost all the time and still get dynamic colors.

Screen RGB Multipliers:

R>286xxxxxxx
G>333xxxxxxx
B>392xxxxxxx

Screen v1 Gamma Hack:

R> -46
G> -50
B> -53
