Vsync kernel dependent?

The aug 27th build for CM10 by bruce said it was Vsync enabled. i really want vsync on my phone but bruce's kernel gives me ****ty battery life. So can have Vsync without the kernel with the rom.?

If debug variables are enabled you can play with vsync too

Here add these below lines to
init.qcom.post_boot.sh present at /system/etc/


# enable vsync
echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/msm_fb/0/vsync_enable


Note: I used to disable vsync on my sense ROMs and this works for me.. I think it can be applied to the jb kernel too

Edit: first confirm the existence of that file (vsync_enable) .. Using file explorer first
