Straighttalk Verizon LTE sim

Has anyone with a Straight Talk branded or Page Plus branded Verizon network LTE sim tried switching their APN to Verizon APN? I'm on straight talk t-mobile with 20+ mb dl. Speeds and I noticed that after using 3 gigs of data they throttled it down. I switched my APN to T-Mobile's APN rather than their APN they tell you to use since it uses their towers and Not only am I not throttled but speeds get 30+ dl. My experience is that Straight Talk only throttles the APN they tell you to use for their phones. I wonder if a standard Verizon APN on Straight Talks Verizon LTE would get higher dl. speeds ~20+mb on Verizon network? Does anyone have Verizon LTE MVNO and would try it? I ordered a ST verizon LTE sim and would like to know if dl. speeds are possible at higher than 5-6 my before I go through the hassle of switching with their customer service.

Bought 2 Note 4s on TMobile... I'd like to also use my VZN Note-3 on TMobile so this helps! But what does ELSE does it take to install and run various 4.4.4 T Mobile roms? Or are we basically running VZN roms on TMO network (using SafeStrap) with necessary network tweaks listed here?!?!? And if so, and that would be fine too, then what of updating to 4.4.4, or eventually, 5.0 roms??? Though I do not imagine it would be any different... Update your VZN Rom to 4.4.4 or 5.0 (using SS of course)... Reinstall your network tweeks to obtain connectivity no???

You should not need root to edit the APN

I bought an unlocked verizon note 3 to use with tmobile Off ebay. I love the phone, the only thing that bugged me was that I wasn't getting the best signal and in some places none at alll. Even after editing the apns and switching between the different network modes I was having the same issue. I contacted the guy I bought the phone off and he told me there was a probability that since I was using a Verizon I wasn't going to get the primary tmobile tower signal, but a secondary one because of the difference of bands. Hence the weak signal. So after a week of dealing with that I decided to buy a tmobile version instead. If anyones interested in buying my verizon, I'm reselling it on eBay . So pm me :good:

I'm on 4.4.4 and band 4 was already enabled so I didn't have to do all this service mode stuff. Any way my question is to the people who are on tmobile with band 4 enabled I'm wondering if the lollipop update by any way blocks band 4 or anything courtesy of Verizon. Just wanna be sure if I update I'll be fine. Thanks!

I'm on T-mobile and I did the Lollipop update fine. No issues, although I did notice that it wiped the APN info and I had to re-add it...less than 2 minutes to do it.

I'm in the same boat though using Verizon note 3 on tmobile. So you did like no ram wipes and flash new rom and re-enter apn settings? Root and all intact?

My bad...I should have stated that I am not rooted. I took the 4.4.4. OTA. I did no wipes and actually used the Verizon Update tool to update. In order to do that you have to put back in your Verizon Sim (only initially to set up and install the Update tool to your computer). Thereafter you can put back in your Tmo Sim, connect to the computer and install the update. I don't believe they've been able to root the Lollipop version as yet (I may be wrong), but if they did, the process of installation should be the same as any other ROM and it should not affect any APN settings.
