Can anybody that got the ota that is rooted download terminal emulator, type su and hit enter, then type reboot recovery and hit enter. I want to see if Verizon/LG removed the stock recovery again, or if it boots into recovery. If it does boot into recovery, does it say "KOT49I.VS98024A test-keys" on the second row?

The following was posted on another thread.

"1. Open device manager.
2. Have your phone set to MTP
3. In device manager you should see mobile devices,
4. Under mobile device it should say LG VS980 etc..
5. Right click it and select uninstall, check the drivers box as well
6. Unplug you phone and plug it back in.
7. You should now be prompted on what you would like to do, select install Verizon software.

The LG mtp cable is not required. I use an after market cable. If does not work you need an after market 5 pin usb cable. Many are only 4 pin."

Yup the kdz is also available for dl. LINK

You can't root of you kdz with that, right?

Guess it's almost time to go back to 12b -- to root and upgrade. Then I guess I'll use the CM unofficial on 24A.

I'm pretty happy with latest nightly on 12b too, though. Heck, most all of the official nightlies have been good to me.

Makes it hard to pull the trigger.

This update is really pissing me the hell off. I can't get the LG/Verizon software Upgrader to recognize my G2. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers a couple times (with multiple PC and phone reboots along the way), I've used 3 different USB cables (including the one that came with the phone), I tried downloading and installing the drivers direct from the LG website, and I'm pretty much out of ideas.. My computer recognizes my phone in every way EXCEPT in the Software Upgrade program. I'm back on 100% stock software, unrooted. I can't for the life of my figure out what is wrong.

Little help, please?

Your not the only one. I've spent hours messing with it and still no luck. Does the same thing mine is doing it just won't see the phone. At this rate I'll get the ota before I figure it out

Currently updating....at 36%. Will let everyone know how it goes.

EDIT: Step 2/2...at 40%. Slow but still going.

EDIT2: OK. It worked. I think I might want to go through the whole process again to determine exactly what steps were necessary, however, b/c I kind of threw everything at it at once on my last try. It may have to wait for morning, though, as it's 2:30am here and I'm a little faced.

Hey guys. I'm up, but desperately need coffee and something greasy to eat first.

@JackpotClavin I'll get dumps of system, boot, tz, rpm, and modem. If you want a few specific dirs from system send me a pm.

@koftheworld yep, that was where i was stuck before I went out. I'll definitely write up a guide after I revert and go through the process again. Do you guys want it in here or a new thread?

I have the partition images so I'm going to revert to 12b again and verify exactly which steps I took were necessary. Sorry to be particular about that, but I like to be precise and I was a little drinky when I did it last night.

I'll start uploading the images as well
