you dont need to crop anything...unless you are running cm7, miui or any other launchers diff than sense.

And if I'm running CM7, is there a way to bypass the cropping part?

ok the wallpapers in the first post are of sizes 540X960...and if i am right i believe for cm7 you need 1080X960 sized wallpapers.
I dont have the original resolution files coz i saved my 540X960 files over the original. But, google search can be good idea to get higher resolution sizes for these wallpapers.

For anyone else in the same boat that I was...I search for the ICS wallpapers and found the post on Android Community. I opened one of the pics in the browser, long pressed, "Set as wallpaper" and boom, done. No cropping and it looks great.

Kinda late, but you could always use the Crop Wallpaper app. It works well.
