Want extra battery life? Simple answer is to buy a spare battery!

What are you guys doing with your phones for such high battery drain?

I purchased a second USB cable, which I take with me to work, rarely do I run out of battery to the extent where it dies.

Managing phone use is probably a better way to preserve battery.

And yes, I do use mobile internet, games and music at the same time, but if I know my battery is going to be low and I need my phone for its primary functions, those things get switched off.

Simples.

Yes, we all carry extra usb cables with us:
- At the club
- In the park
- EVERYWHERE WHERE THERE ISN'T A WAY TO CHARGE YOUR PHONE

....would it be if you just had enough juice for two days or more!

The solution is to carry a 3000-5000 mAh external battery pack, or spare OEM batteries. If HTC could reasonably get more battery capacity into the DHD's battery compartment, why wouldn't they?

That's why i'm thinking about getting a RAZR MAXX next.
3300mAh is WAY better than anything HTC can offer.

You can use juice defender. Increases battery life notably . but spare bettery anyday
Just switch off location and weather update and you don't need juice defender ;)
And since juice defender ultimate is needed for the location based wifi activation, i'd suggest to use llama. It's like Tasker but free and can do everything juice defender can if you set it up right.

got the same debate going on here.

whats better - a spare battery from htc or an external charger pack with three times more of the original's capacity?

Having a second battery sure consumes less space - but youd have to turn your phone off to change it and it would make it last twice as long as usual while

the battery pack provieds up to five full charges for the battery, the phone doesnt need to be turned off while "charging" but it is bigger than a spare battery.

For me that would make two points for the charger and one point for the second battery.

but still im in a huge dilemma here. Are there any other experienced facts that i missed?

Thanks for the help

That the good chargers, like the Energizer Xp4001 cost 2-4 times more than a battery.
And if you plan to use it everyday for charging your phone, after some period it will lose its ability for maximum charge.

With these portable battery chargers, how long does it take to achieve a full charge? If it takes hours it would be pretty annoying to have to carry it everywhere.
charging of the phone is like having it at the normal wall charger, if the portable charger gives same output of course.but most good chargers are like this.

Second battery isn't a good solution (my opinion)

In my opinion, second battery is so complicated in the useage. You have to turn off the phone, change the battery, turn on... as well as the risk of damage the fragile cover.
External battery pack like a New Trent is good solution.
My next phone after DHD must have a battery at least 2500mAh.

I agree, it's messy - plus you have to keep the spare battery topped up (awkward if you don't have one of those chargers where the battery doesn't have to be inside the phone)

I actually have a Mugen 1500mah for the day to day stuff - I always get to the end of the day now with normal use (internet, push email, phone, some games, plenty of screen)

I have a 5000mah NewTrent for when I know I'm going to need plenty of power - travelling, all day mountainbiking (recording the track with the GPS).

the battery pack tends to sit in a drawer, I top it up via the USB as needed, and have never had a problem with it.

Hello, guys! I'm fan of mountainbiking too and started to use MapMyRide+ this spring. Of course, my original HTC battery becomes empty in 2-3 hours. I found very interesting thing for a good price. Check the link: http://www1.buyincoins.com/details/...harger-for-iphone-nokia-26-product-11909.html
I allready bought it and hope to receive it tomorrow. I think 5600mAh will be enough for all day use of GPS. I'll revert with results of my test this weekend!

Hi

I'm going to buy a new HTC BA S470 battery but at HTC Accessory Store they are out of stock. So I'm looking for that battery in other websites and I found a very interesting price on Amazon.fr: the battery only costs 14,92€ (sell by ascoon-online) or 24,28€ (sell by Amazon).

Do you think this is the same battery that is available at HTC Accessory Store??

I need it quickly I can't wait!!

I've been using sportstrackpro for the last year to log my tracks, I get about 20% battery drain per hour. Very approximately... but that would give in the region of 5 hours on battery power. The screen goes blank (that's configurable in the app), so maybe that is the difference?
