General [WARNING] Calling stops working outside of China for the Chinese version

I bought a 512GB version from Wonda. It arrived with CPH2451_11_A.06 - couldn't update it and got the region lock message. Wonda were brilliant and have replaced it. The replacement is with CPH2447, still got the region lock message but was able to update to A08 and again to A09 today (just released).

I have just got a message saying "You're using a device that is only sold in China. Its communication functions will soon be restricted in your region. Please go to the official Oneplus website and contact customer service for help."

Anyone else had this before region lock restrictions started? I was hoping the A09 update might have removed the region lock but guess not.

I'm in the UK. I would have bought the phone in the UK but I want 512GB and they don't sell that here. Just on with Oneplus support via live chat and they are booking in a repair for me. They say: The process usually takes 1-2 days for processing and 7-9 business days for the repair. Guess I'll be back on my Oneplus 9 for a few more weeks.

Just like with OnePlus 11 you need to take/send your phone to an official Oppo/OnePlus service center to get it unlocked. They will need something (e.g. a receipt) as a proof of purchase.

i have oneplus ace2 bought from china and calls stopped after 1 week, i went to Oppo service center and they aware of the problem and solved it (ulock the region lock) in 2 mins.

Hi, Can you please get details from oppo service, How they did? It might be helpful for me. In my region they want help but dont know how to unlock.
What is you phone model and where did you unblock?

I can confirm that. I went to Singapore Oppo Service Center for unlock the region lock. They need proof of purchase receipt. It took them about an hour to unlock without any cost from me.

Data (mobile internet) and texting (SMS messages) are safe/not affected.

Looks like your concrete service center is not fully "official". The official one has the software/endorsement to do that.

I have op 11 from china. The calls stopped working after 2 weeks. I put an old Chinese sim card that doesn't seem to be working and it doesn't have roaming service activated on it and even with that it enables the phone to make calls with my country sim card. It's a temporary solution.
Even that i try ones in while to disable it to see if my phone is activated but after few seconds it gives me the rigion customized message and block the calls.
Can anyone tell me if they activate the phone in oppo center and after that you make a hard reset to your phone. Would the region customized message come again or not?

I bought the phone in china, used 2-3 weeks without issues. now I have the same problem. oneplus offically doesn't have sales here, but they have support hotline. They have forwarded me to OPPO support, but they don't have any idea about my request.

Unlocking calling has nothing to do with any SIMs.

hello everyone. I'm writing through a translator, sorry in advance. I'm from Russia and we also block calls. My phone is currently in the service where the lock is being lifted. Information: The lock is not associated with SIM cards. Activating the phone in China will not help, the magisk module will not help either. The only way to solve the problem is to contact the Oppo service, they have special software that will remove the restrictions. The phone's IMEI gets blacklisted and cannot be removed from there without the intervention of Oppo/OnePlus. After unlocking, you can do anything with the phone (reset, change SIM cards). The blocking message should not appear.

I got a similar response on their webchat. However, the link I was sent to their UK send-to-repair/service firm has no Oneplus 11 model in their forms, and emailing them I got this reply:

So no solution yet for me in the UK.

I have been on their online chat just now, pointed out same thing: OPO 11 doesn't show in SBE list, they told me to put a request through to oneplus directly through their emailing portal and they will create a repair work order for me themselves. Don't know yet if it works, i am hesitant to send my phone away for few days; waiting for another centre close by that repairs OnePlus phones to confirm back to me if they can unlock 11's or not.
