General [WARNING] Calling stops working outside of China for the Chinese version

I have been on their online chat just now, pointed out same thing: OPO 11 doesn't show in SBE list, they told me to put a request through to oneplus directly through their emailing portal and they will create a repair work order for me themselves. Don't know yet if it works, i am hesitant to send my phone away for few days; waiting for another centre close by that repairs OnePlus phones to confirm back to me if they can unlock 11's or not.

Let us know how it goes. I sent it back to seller as a return - if they for some reason don't agree to the return and I get it back it'll be good to know

i am eager to message the vendor too and see if i can get them to issue a replacement, good thing that even though the shady company i bought it from ships from HK, return address is in UK. but waiting to see what feedback i get from both and then will update here.

I bought a Chinese version today in my country, Bangladesh. Upon inserting the sim, a message popped up saying "this is only for China and calling functions will be restricted soon". However, I got an OTA update and everything is working fine. Is it going to be locked? Can anyone help?

Do you still get the message pop up AFTER that update if you restart your phone? If so, it will start blocking calls in a couple of days. I just got A09 update today, my pop up message has a change in wording to the same one as you have about China. But phone call function is still blocked.

I likely used the same vendor - titb. They accepted my return and I got my refund today fyi.

My phone call service locked since last two weeks.
1. I had visited oneplus service center twice and they are not able to fix it.

1. Official OnePlus service centers do remove the call block. Find another one or even visit/send it to a different country. You'll have to demonstrate a proof of purchase.
2. This is the official policy. They are trying to fight grey exports and loss of profits. These phones are meant to be used only by the Chinese [in China].

There's another proof why it's the official policy: they've gone to great lengths to remove the ability to run OxygenOS instead of ColorOS. Even if you install the former, you won't be able to upgrade. In the past you could trivially upgrade by downloading the full upgrade to the sdcard and selecting "Update Locally". Even root wasn't needed.

Under OxygenOS some features are not working properly, like automatic display brightness.

There's a new update from 4pda forums, which is yet to be confirmed:

If you have unlocked calls in an official service center, you must not unlock the bootloader, otherwise calling will be blocked again

Great! I just bought a Chinese version OnePlus 11, activated on China and switch to OxygenOS 13 last night. My version is CHP2449_11_A.08. Need to wait until 14-20 days for region lock issue or not.

I activated and flashed OOS on 20 April on China, now there is no any region lock or warning message yet. I am waiting for the OTA update and any patch / solutions to fix the 'cannot set lock screen code after unlock bootloader' issue.

Hi. I have bought this phone (16/512) from tradingshenzhen and can tell one thing - after some reboots (approximately 10, I haven't counted) it will stop working. The only thing that you can do to make it work again is to reset user data.

I posted a question on tradingshenzhen that the region lock problem is still there, but they haven't posted it and the rest of conversation with support was continued via email.

As for OnePlus, I can say that they claimed it will be ,,repaired" for free, but for one day I haven't received any details about it.

To summarize, please stop buying this chinese model, because at the end you will be f*ced up by Tradingshenzhen and their "No Region Lock Problem" and OnePlus / Oppo ? because it is their new standard how to handle a customer with region lock - it is not a bug, it is definitely a feature If you don't believe me, then simply try to run adb logcat while starting a device (modem will not start and the message won't appear too)

the password/fingerprint has been solved in unlocked bootloader status.

Now, my phone is kept in unlocked status in order to update my phone

I can confirm after softbricking a device that service centers in China will flash the device and unlock it for free Took 30 minutes and they were really nice, was an oppo center.

I cannot confirm the unlock of region works as I am still here, but it was funny. They said, you flashed the device, I said, well, yeah, then they unlocked it. No comments about don't do it again.
