I managed finally to recover and root my oneplus 11 thanks to QLM flasher developer help,

I did get the region lock message, was planning to go visit oppo to unlock it, but! I did *#3988691# and it said device been unlocked!

I hope it really is (which will be very funny solution!)
The "Has been unlocked" msg is false. Say that on basis of getting that msg but finding phone still locked. Seller for my 16/512 is sending me China SIM card which is supposedly a fix. Will see, but resolved no more OP (after OP 2 onward), will get the Google Pixel 8 in October.

I supported OnePlus many years. OnePlusOne, OnePlus 3,, OnePlus7 Pro, OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 10R. OnePlus 11 may be my last OnePlus devices if they keep on this kinds of customer unfriend policy ( region lock)
I have One Plus history much same as yours but did not get the First, too late. Had some fun changing ROMs and generally much love. My last was OP 6T gave strong feeling looking forward to the . Now my thoughts have changed to never byby, never again OP. Have a Google Pixel 4a arriving tomorrow, but that is just an intermediate warmup thingy, much looking forward to Pixel 8 in October. Note the 7 is reputedly excellent` but I really want the 5X optical telephoto, and no messing around with locks.

Hi, I live in Melbourne, Australia. Recently bought a 1+11 16/512 from China. I've read about the region lock feature for phones intended for the Chinese market, I've also read that Oneplus service center can remove the lock. I'd like to know if this is possible and where would my closest service center be.

Thanks in advance,
John Doe

Hi John,

Thank you for contacting OnePlus Support!

I am Christopher Leo, your support representative who will be assisting you with your concern.

From your email I understand that you are unable to use the OnePlus 11 device from the Australia region. I would like to apologies for the inconvenience caused.

I would like to inform you that the Chinese variant OnePlus 11 device is carrier locked for the Chinese region and the device will not be able to use in different region without unlocking the network.

Hence, I would request you to please contact the point of purchase and get the device unlocked. You can also contact the Chinese support team for further assistance as we do not have any official service center in Australia region.

You can also contact the Chinese support team. For that refer to the following link and find the support team details from the bottom of the page.

Best Regards,

The note from C. Leo of OnePlus explains the source of the problem. I have the problem after buying from seller on AliExpress. This seller is not very helpful and refuses my RETURN of this dysfunctional - phone that does not do phone function here in Thailand - device. My longer term solution is to buy the Google Pixel 8 when it appears in October. Will continue using my older OP 6T, which works very well.

You can't buy OP11 in Thailand officially?

The test will be in a couple of weeks to be sure the region lock won't kick in again. Fingers crossed for you.
Got my phone back yesterday, after the initial "fix" by SBE removed the region lock and bricked my phone (they clearly hadn't tested it before posting back). Returned the next day and got it back in five days, now wiped (as expected) but calls working so the region lock is gone. I had a full backup so phone is now working as it should, thankfully.

There are several shops in Thailand at Lazada claiming "official One Plus" sales. There are also many more offering OP 11 at prices that are far lower than the Official shops. I count on the real buyers and their reports on the sales, such seem nonexistent at the low-cost locales. I would much advise against buying at these and know of some proven swindles. There is an official Oppo store and service in Bangkok, and I intend to visit there with my dydfunctional OP 11.

If they are selling either CPH2449 or CPH2451 versions, I see no issues ;-)

LOL this company becomes more and more of a joke by the day.

No idea why all the links have been removed from the message but whatever.

4pda distributes warez, correct, but all the links were for a valid topic which has nothing to do with that.

Never heard of them distributing malware though. Must be something to do with the war I guess.

4pda has a ton of talented developers and some ROMs are basically developed over there but looks like the rules here have changed.

My post had nothing to do with warez.

Can I post a link to Google com?

Over 15 thousand results for 4pda at xda-developers.

I found the prop to enable region lock so created Magisk module to disable it (and enable location history as a bonus).
Please test "magisk-module-oplus-cn2global-test.zip" if your device is rooted.

I've put together a blog post on which specific regions are region-locked.
They seem to be targeting areas where the global version is officially sold.

Hi guys, some good news!!! Found on 4pda

"We managed to get in touch with OPPO representatives. We received an answer that in fact the company did not join any sanctions, this is just a technical bug, and now the developers are working to fix it as soon as possible. In the near future, this malfunction will go away, - explained the store manager Alexander Levin"
