So on my 4th atrix through insurance and I have never had any issues unlocking or rooting/installing custom roms. Well they cancelled my insurance since I have gotten more then 2 in 12 months. Anyways I get #4 in the mail plug in USB flash pudding using rsd lite sticks on 98% and does the 0x0001 error and I wanted to cry lol for real.. so I started reading and reading and found out its not "HARD BRICKED" by any means of what hard bricked means more like soft bricked. Followed the steps of flashing through moto fastboot and wah lah successfully UN-HARDBRICKED and un heart broken. I love my atrix for a split second thought I was gonna have to go get a nexus fallacy

I just got my Atrix replaced today because of the wifi error issue and I can't figure out how to unlock and root the phone now.

It's running 2.3.4 and I keep reading that you can't use RSDlite (which I tried) to do the traditional fastboot unlock. How do I unlock the bootloader and root it now?

Safest way to return to as close to factory as possible??

Hi,
So I'm running the official OTA 4.5.91 rom, but I have it rooted (I think I used some sort of fastboot method, it was along time ago). Before I go through the troubleshooting with ATT/Moto, I want to give the stock rom/radio/etc a try.

As far as I understand, I have not unlocked the bootloader, also I attempted to use CWM (Rom Manager) but whenever I reboot into it (through the App or through the volumn down on boot) it just gives me an error.

I'm having problems with the Wifi giving 'Error' and restarts, so I figure it's probably a hardware issue that will be covered by ATT/Moto, but I wanted to rule out it being the software since I've played with Titianium backup and removed a lot of the moto/att junk.

If I'm not supposed to use RSDLite with the official SBF, how should I get the factory rom (and which one is 'factory', the sbf?) on the device.

Thanks for help!

It might just be me, but I find this thread useless, before I ended here I found another thread whit a user stating he just did
fastboot oem unlock (it gave the unique ID)
then
fastboot oem unlock "unique ID"
and guess what, no more 0x1000 error...

also I did the SBF flashing on RSD lite, and no, the cell didn't catch fire or anything. it is UP and running. this is the third atrix I do this unlock but the first one to show this issue.

all running on 4.5.91 GB2.3.4 with the OTA UPDATE I downloaded off the MOTO website.

You cant fix a hard brick, this has to do wiht downgrading via rsd after doing the OTA update

The situation described in the OP (try re-reading it) was confirmed months ago. Your situation does not apply here. This thread is about trying to downgrade after updating to gingerbread, meaning, trying to sbf flash a Froyo build.

Again, the OP has already been confirmed. This is a serious warning because there is still (currently) people bricking their phones because they do not take the necessary precautions.

I hard-bricked my atrix too :(

Is there any way to recover our Atrix using the NvFlash utility for any other device based on tegra2(like LG 2X)?

here and there
ive hard bricked my phone before, and i can tell you that yes using rsd and flashing th 1.2.6 sbf most definetly works. your bootloader is still unlocked but it will not say unlocked at the top until you do the steps to unlock it again, and i dont think you even have to it just wont say unlocked everytime you reboot. i did the steps so not having to do it im not possitive about but it did say it was already unlock when i did the steps. also you have to rerrot the phone because youll definetly lose root. hope this helps anyone with bricks.
