Don't be shocked if you end up with a locked device.
If you care about an unlocked bootloader, you may want to pass on it.

It means Verizon made a patch so you can't use the unlock bootloader method from the last software version.what does this mean? im new
Why don't you just not get OTA update? problem solved.....I wonder if this was to patch that exploit for the exynos processor reported a few weeks back. The side effect of course is a relocked bootloader. That's why I didn't understand why everyone was bringing so much attention to it. Let's pray that Adam can unlock this new bootloader.
What if we use insurance to replace our phones and we get one with this locked bootloader? Or what about people buying new phones? My wife's iPhone 4 was actually more valuable with iOS 5 than iOS 6. The iSheep still do not have a jailbreak for iOS 6.Why don't you just not get OTA update? problem solved.....
Thanks for this information. I already learned the hard way on my Transformer Infinity to never update before unlocking. This will give me a reason to unlock my Note 2, root it, and install CleanROM, which is also what I have on my Infinity.Don't be shocked if you end up with a locked device.

Reverting back to stock is so easy....all you need to do is odin flashing stock tar file....which will relock and unroot your phone with working OTA update. And I was referred to current rooted rom users. I don't think they need to be re-unlocked nor re-rooted. Flashing another updated rom and kernel will pretty much take care of everything. Besides, adrenalyne already has bootloader safe OTA update working......so there is no point of worrying. However, if someone is planning to buy a new phone and needs his or her phone updated, then yes. What if we use insurance to replace our phones and we get one with this locked bootloader? Thanks Adam. I really enjoyed your videos.
Bump.
Looks like my warning was correct.
This. Thank you. Not that I have a problem with being stock, just would have put a bummer on me.Thanks! Because of your warning I stayed away from the ota.
Thank you!
Fixes the exynos exploit, locks the bootloader, and updates the radio. Possibly some other minor patches looking at the patch file sizes.if I used Odin to flash a completely stock tar image with just a root injected into it and then did the ota would I still be rooted? and what does the ota add anyways

Yes I stayed away from it as well and went ahead and unlocked the bootloader and now im happily running Jelly Beans rom so thank you. My question for you or anyone. Since im unlocked and on a complete new rom is this exynos exploit still on my device? If so how do u get it taken care of? Thanks and sorry for a noob question.Bump.

Depends on the kernel. I couldn't tell you with third party kernels, but the latest stock one from the ota closes the exploit and is safe to flash.Yes I stayed away from it as well and went ahead and unlocked the bootloader and now im happily running Jelly Beans rom so thank you.
