Will installing Noattach's new ROM preserve my settings? or basically wipe everything?

Thanks for your help.
Installing any ROM with wipe everything, so you need to find an app to back your things up... Someone posted a guide here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it anymore... (I'll find it when I'm not looking for it, oh the irony xD)

This is only what you need to do to root .141, I was asking for a full guide to flash to it... But anyways I found one and I will add it to the OP.

With this guide I have unlocked and afterwards rooted my 2.3.6 Atrix. there are some other options that I found very usefull.
I think it is worth a look.

If you are on 2.3.4 then you can still install rom based on 2.3.6

Just a quick question regarding this new update. If i don't want to do it how do i get rid of the popup from my phone all the time?? I have an unlocked rooted phone so i wont be doing it. Also, i noticed NottachTrix 4G shows an update for adobe flash player, am i to understand that flash works with this update? It never has in the past. Are there any big advantages to this new rom?? Thanks!
ps. on a side note, how do i update my phone without losing all my game and contact data??

Sync your contacts to your google account, use titanium backup to backup apps and their data. (Go into preferences and tell it to backup external data and app cache.)

probably a stupid question but here goes anyway...

I have rooted my phone using the one click method. The bootloader is still locked.

Will i still receive OTA updates from my orange UK and if do update will i get blocked?

I see a lot of posts that are all over the map, so I'm just going to put it all down here (what I know anyway). This applies to US/AT&T devices only but may work elsewhere.

1. If you RSD back to 4.5.91 then update you will have no issues.

2. If you use CWM to restore an un-rooted 4.5.91 (which also means you have an unlocked bootloader), after you get the OTA update it will apply the update but you will get a "failed to boot 4, starting RSD" message. To clear this, use RSD to re-install pudding. The device will reboot, perhaps twice, then start up on the .141 build with no further issues and you will remain unlocked.

3. If you didn't bother to make a backup of your stock image and rooted, re-root before accepting the update.

4. I don't know if there is a way to stop the update notifications. From what I understand there isn't unless you do some tweaking/hacking. I'm sure a search will yield results.

I had originally RSD flashed the .91 sbf and did the OTA to .141 without any problems and then proceeded to root using the "preinstall" method. Well, I decided I was going to look for a new(er) phone, so, to bring the phone to a "sell-able" state I decided to RSD flash the .141 sbf, which also worked. Weird thing is, when I did the OTA it did not update the radio or webtop, but the sbf did.

Does anyone one know a successful method to unlock a 4.5.141 that has never been unlocked?

Bit off topic, is there a way to check bootloader status? It seems that the unlocked message can be made to disappear with some stock roms.

A have looked for simple way to unlock and root and pudding on first site was just to complicated. This is waaay more easy.
Manual is self explaining. I can also confirm that it works on android 2.3.6
Motorola Atrix 4G ATT 4.5.141
I have unlocked bootloader and rooted in couple simple steps. Afterwards you just need to install superuser from market as written in manual.

I use handy in Bosnia, worked great. Looking forward to Neutrino 2.2

I'll add my success story as another data point...

I was running a pretty stock 4.5.91 image, sim unlocked, bootloader unlocked, rooted Atrix with hotspot change and a few other tweaks.

I used RSD 5.6.4 to flash over my install:
1FF-olympus-user-2.3.6-4.5.141-111212-release-keys-signed-ATT-US-GAS_NA_OLPSGBATTSPE_P012.sbf.gz

md5 checksum of the gz file is 78cbe2314d76016a12118b30655a3451
md5 of the extrated sbf is 0bc556a7fd949317f061e29d88632242

I then used Automatic Bootloader to re-unlock my bootloader even though I think it stayed unlocked from before.

Lastly, to finish up I used the preinstall root method to regain root.

I then used my existing install of ROM Manager to reflash clockworkmod recovery, booted into it and wiped the davlik cache and battery stats, might have wiped the cache as well.

In the end I am running an unlocked bootloader, rooted, 141 and I kept all of my apps & settings including the hotspot edit.

Quick question about all of this.
My phone is running the Aura ROM - most recent version (which is a little old admittedly.) Unlocked bootloader, rooted and with CWM installed.
I keep getting the update message.
Am I safe to update? Or no?

Me too.. When I looked up I see various details here and there which confuses a lot..
Is it doing Motorola Software update from below link update to 4.5.141?
http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-EN/Android_Products/ATRIX-4G_Software_Update_Page

I believe this method should not brick and once updated we can root right?

Mine in unlocked/rooted 2.3.4
no. Go back to page 5 and re-read mk1151's very informative post. Doing the update using the link above on an bootloader unlocked phone = risk of soft brick.

That post more or less just describes what you do if you try the update and it fails and to just not update, unless im just reading it wrong.

If i am reading it wrong, and you can update, then i dont get his last point for sure.
