WTH is this app and why is it installed on my phone?

This popped up after I got a couple of updates from the market, er store...

I can't find a package resembling that and now when I try to run titanium backup it freezes when trying to look at all the apps installed.

You guys, go into TiBu and freeze the stock Samsung email apps, clear market data, then check again.

Could also try pressing and holding on them and selecting "detach from market".

Don't know if this will work but it's worth a shot.

If you look at the app comments / reviews it is not malware. It seems to have popped up on a lot of people's phones today though.. And no one knows how to get rid of it! I have tried to download the update but it won't let me.

I saw almost all of the comments. Just wondering what app I installed to allow this crap onto my phone.

Guess its time to wipe and flash a new ROM :)

I also have an app called "testfile" by sfukuda in my installed apps. From what i have read, they are both instances of google play market misintepreting which app is really installed. It is not like there is anything actually installed on my phone. It just is pointing to the wrong app in the market. Doesn't seem harmful, my phone is still working and no weird data or battery usage occurring. I think i will wait this one out.

I got this off the international sgs 2 forum. Use whatever method you like to uninstall programs and uninstall all share which will remove the test file and social hub seven mail which will remove the telecommunications program.

For sure fix if this pops up for you in the market. If you're rooted and have TiBackup, search for play store, and wipe its data. Done and done.

Just a heads up there is a update in the market place acting like a app update! DO NOT UPDATE THIS! Will SCREW YOUR DEVICE UP! I reported it but its still showing up! Watch out mates!

There was another thread about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564954

I'm trying to figure out this issue as well, even though I do not have the update appearing on my phone.

Can you try scrolling down through the reviews, to see what the original app was?

    Why yes, yes it is.

    Here's what you should do:
    1. Flag it in the market.
    2. Install Titanium Backup
    3. Find "Play Store"
    4. Wipe data
    5. Reboot

    That should fix the issue.
