If they send devices to Poland probably CCS or CTDI is HTC's partner. If your water indicator was red it is very bad. Only way is to ask for test of tightness. If you have contact to service center in Poland and you have problem (cause they may have problem with English :D) I can help you if you want (I'm Polish).

That's very nice of you. But again - Yes, the device has a water damage, I totally agree. But the device is supposed NOT to have water damages, because it's supposed to be water proof.

HTC U11 is water and dust resistant and has an IP67 rating as defined in the International Standard IEC 60529. With the nano SIM/microSD slot covered and closed tightly, this phone is water resistant if it is briefly submerged by accident in fresh water less than 1 meter deep and no longer than 30 minutes at room temperature.

I know, but if your Sim slot was closed water shouldn't damage your device. That's why they should perform tightness test.

But...

If you have told them that was sea not fresh water you have no chance to fix your U11 using warranty.

HTC u11 phone malfunctioned and was completely dead, after getting rain IN MY POCKET. I contacted the HTC Germany and they say they are NOT responsible. And there is no warrantee for water damage. Please be careful, your water resistant phone might not be that water resistant after all.

Beware dear HTC U11 owners. I have 2 HTC U11 in my family, the second one has a flaw. I washed it with clear tape water for like 5 seconds, so no pressure at all, it wasn't buried in 1 or 2 meters deep, and still I saw water beneath the front camera. The phone still worked with no problem, but I was scared so I let it seat for a night in a box full of rice, and now it's OK, no water left inside but be careful, especially because HTC repair service is one of the worst out there. I will never wash it again, I will just wipe it with wet wipes but nothing more.

The key word here is "briefly" submerged by accident. In other words, you drop it in a toilet bowl and retrieve it immediately. But we knew here from the very beginning that the U11 wasn't very much waterproof.

The problems mainly come from wrong usage. Many user took the upper mic for the SIM card ejector, instead of the little hole in the SIM tray, thus penetrating the water proof membrane. About 90% of water damages recorded were caused by that very incident.

Sent from my HTC U12+ using XDA Labs

That makes a lot more sense. I've had my U11 in pouring down rain at concerts, taking pictures and never had any issues.

Accidentally dropped multiple times in bucket full of water. The touch goes crazy until a clean wipe. Also once we went for boating and I was taking 60fps 1080p video for a while and it got overheated. I dipped it in the lake water and kept it that way for 10-15 sec and it worked as a perfect coolant. A clean wipe after that gave me another 15-20 minutes video time. Did it couple times until the battery drained due to video Rec.
