Hi everyone,
the moderator team on XDA currently needs some fresh blood. How about sending your application to become a moderator?
If :
- you have free time to spend on this role,
- you fit the minimum requirements (see below),
- you are interested and if you think that you'd be a good addition to our team,
... we would be happy to see you applying!
If you do so, the Moderator Committee (composed of Senior Moderators) will review your application in the next weeks (delay of 2 months max in theory).
Being a Forum Moderator, what is this?
It is actually about being a MEDIATOR on the site!
This is a volunteer position that is about helping keep the forums clean and organized, and keep the site drama-free, as much as possible, by being proactive and also thanks to reports.
We need motivated people who love helping and guiding xda members.
A moderator is never alone, you will be helped by our whole team, learning the ropes everyday.
Here is an well-known article on the portal explaining this role briefly and differently: https://www.xda-developers.com/join-xda-moderation-team/
It is even more than what is described in this article in my opinion. Being a moderator is another way of contribution but it doesn't mean you stop contributing the way you currently do, a mod is also a regular member.
As said above, we want to keep things as clean as possible and drama-free. We try to be more mediators than moderators when there are conflicts between members, when kang reports arise, or any other issues on the site.
Also being in the moderator team allows you to have a chance to contribute improving the site itself, I mean its organization and its interface.
What are the minimum requirements?
- Must be a member of XDA Developers a minimum of 12 months
- Must have a forum post count of at least 500
- Must be able to show a history of providing assistance to other forum members
- Must have no current disciplinary infractions against your account (older ones must be 6 months expired)
Any applications not meeting the stated requirements will not be considered, however simply meeting all of them does not guarantee acceptance.
Please take your time to read and understand the questions. The more detailed your application, the better it will look when the Moderator Committee reviews it.
Thank you for reading and please find the application link in the next post.
Regards,
woodman
