why I cannot seem to install safestrap latest version on KK? Any idea? TT backup, root explorer, etc seems to work just fine, even root checker says it is rooted. I've installed SU and disabled KNOX. Tried to install Safestrap 3 times already and when it is done, status remain Not Installed. Any suggestion would be appreciate. Thanks.
Are you rebooting into recovery using the app? If you installed the recovery you should have an option in safestrap to restart in recovery mode.

I saw someone say they tried to unroot by removing su.apk then using supersu remove root then doing à factory reset.

how are you going to use SuperSU to remove root if you are removing it in the first place? unless you're saying there are two separate apks for SuperSU one of them is su.apk.

Guys I have an odd request. I'm in a place (at work) where my play store is being less than cooperative. Would someone be awesome and throw up the busybox apk please and thanks

Ordering today, would I be safe?

I'm thinking about ordering the phone online today. Can anyone tell me whether I'm likely to be unable to root by the time it gets here, or when AT&T/samsung is likely to push out an update in which the vulnerability is fixed?

Edit: I see it will be sent overnight. So instead let me just ask how long would I have before AT&T is likely to have "fixed" it?

So the DK rom comes with Tether app? Just curios, I haven't decided which rom to install as yet. I am still having a little issue with SS. It says installed but the it says safe system:not active, not sure what it means. Trying to reboot to recovery and it doesn't work. I am currently googling it now about safe sytem. This is pretty new to me than the previous SS.
Do you have busybox installed along with SS?

And about tethering the rom itself has it built in, just turn it on as you normally would if you payed ATT.

I did, the status says: Installed but the safe system: Not active. I clicked on Reboot Recovery and it just reboot to the phone, I never get to the recovery option during reboot. Am I suppose to hold some key down to access the recovery menu?

So what I've done:
1. download and install towelroot
2. download and install SU here, not from playstore
3. install busybox free from playstore
4. install safestrap
It seems to be install correctly but safesystem: Not Active and when I reboot to Recovery from SS, it just goes back to the phone OS. I'll probably go home tonight and reinstall everything to see if it solves the problem.

Try uninstalling the recovery and reinstalling using safestrap. I've heard of some users having issues installing the recovery the first few times.

Also, double-check busybox and make sure you've opened the app and installed it on your system. Then install the recovery using safestrap and press reboot into recovery. If nothing else works IDK what to tell you. You could try the Q&A section.

Issue resolved, had to root gain and in the system folder there's a safestrap recovery file that you have to delete. I rebooted and it's gone!

Alright so I figured it out, mine shows Official now. Go into /system and find that safestrap file/folder and delete it and reboot it should be gone. You'll have to root again if you're not rooted now. Once you do that, uninstall recovery through safestrap and than go into setting under app manager and uninstall once you've uninstalled recovery. Go back into /system/app or /system/priv-app and verify if SuperSu is in either folder, if it is remove it. The following might not work if you removed SuperSU from /system/app or /system/priv-app but if it wasn't present in either folder than go into SuperSU app and uncheck remove SuperSU access or something like that, than scroll down and do a full unroot. After you've done this reboot, check if it's official...If not root again this time install SuperSU and than reboot, than check again if it's Official or Custom. Mine said Official, if it does reboot one more time and check again. At that point you're still rooted which is fine, if it's official than do a factory reset and that should get you back to fully unrooted and official. Kinda weird right? It worked for me lol.
