It worked lol.
I suggest that you start a thread in "general" on that. guide on how to full unroot and remove the "custom" status. step by step. it'll help so many people. I'd use it, too. I wanna return my phone to ATT and get a replacement but I can't because of the custom status.

Did it work for you? I'm not really big on starting threads especially if it doesn't work for everyone than you get people talking smack you know. If it worked for you let me know, you can start the thread yourself and just put my name ;) lol.

I just installed a BusyBox and the status changed to a "Custom". No SS has been installed or present.
Took me a few times to reboot to get back to the official status after BusyBox has been removed. Man,this device is screw up completely. We need a special thread with the warnings about installing apps to AT&T Note 3.

As much as I loved being rooted on my note 2. Rooting my Note 3 seems like a HUGE PAIN in the Ass. Obviously- Samsung and ATT have made it so complicated that its NOT worth rooting- UNTIL KINGO can unravel the mystery( Kingo showed a process that was, in my opinion. much easier. and they are still working on it.). With a alll due respect to this towelroot tool. I will wait until it is easier, bug free, and totally reversible so if I hit unroot with an app or dev tool. I have ,the official status back, and binary count at 0. Just my 2 cents.

Done it again just to confirm. Ok. It wasn't BusyBox" but the 'LuckyPatcher". I removed it and the status went back to the "official". Sorry for the misinformation and thanks guys for sharing an information about yours phones.
BTW. LP removed a signature verification (and some other stuff) from the system.

pressing buttons

,
well lets oversimplify the process, ignore the complications discussed throughout this thread, and lets not compare to other methods.
lets also ignore the obvious. its not as easy as rooting the note 2 or previous platforms.-
so what your saying is. just press a button and all things wonderful will flow, and sparkle out of your device and birds will sing in harmony.
Make a youtube video of just pressing a button. When you brick your phone, and try to have the warranty replace it..and they check your status, binary count, and see the obvious mods. they will say sir.. you are **** OUTA LUCK.!
C'mon. I was comparing. stating facts. and if you compare whats required to root this kitkat 442. sometimes we want things simple- although
not always available. so we wait. with time,, the process will get even easier. guaranteed.

The binary counter doesn't update.
If you do say break a screen or something you could take it to best buy and flash it.

WiFi hotsopt and Bluetooth issues, any way to fix them on rooted device?

An issue that bugs me under NC2 stock ROM, is the fact that I can't enable the WiFi hotspot. It seems to be blocked under these ROMs, no matter which SIM card one uses. The ROM even blocked WiFi for me when I was traveling abroad and used a local cell company SIM, that had nothing to do with AT&T.

There is also a Bluetooth issue under stock NC2: it will not pair with with Bluetooth radios found in new Subaru cars. Tried two cars so far, there is always "searching" message on the radio, followed up instantly by "error" message on both the radio and phone. The phone pairs fine with all other devices, and it used to pair with Subaru's under earlier versions of Samsung/AT&T ROM.

Did anyone hear of a way to correct these issues on a rooted Note 3 AT&T phone, running stock NC2 ROM? I also tried an alternative ROM (DynamicKat), but since such ROMs are based on the official NC2, they have the same issues.

Ok guys. I know this is beating a dead horse here... but just for everyone's clarification, I have downloaded towelroot and made it rain successfully. Now I have supersu (from xda not playstore).. I have busybox.. and I have SS 3.71 and 3.72... now my question is what order do I install the supersu, busybox, and SS and lastly which version of SS do I need to install. Thanks in advance for answers

Make sure you have root (DL a rootchecker from play store). If root achieved, install supersu. DL busybox from play store and install the app, then open the app and extract/install. Install SS 3.72 app and install recovery. Then you should be able to reboot into SS recovery.
