Weather app/widget

Hi

My weather app/widget only shows info about some chinese city. Is there a way to fix this or to replace the widget with other from an alternative weather app?

AFAIK its a yahoo server problem . . . assuming youve set the city to yours ?

First, have you been into factory settings and made sure you set the device up for your country settings?

Second iirc there is a way to change it in the apps or settings, but its tied to a manually set location, which in a vehicle is about as much use as a chocolate fire-guard, especially if you travel reasonably large distances.

What would be far more useful would be if it was possible to change it for one that could use network, gps, geo-location or whatever like plenty of apps can to match weather to your current location.

You set the weather by long pressing it, not in factory settings.

Look at 4pda.ru they have modded original weather app that works with GPS. So it is automaticaly tracking your location (no need to fix the city as in stock). Also modded app v2 enables to choose from several weather providers.

You have to register with 4pda and then links are working. There is no alternative download site. It's worth registering there as most of the work (Xposed modules, modded aps etc.) is published there first. And there is more info on modules and customizations as original devs are active there (newer seen booroondook or MVG-V70 here on XDA).

Ah yes these nasty Russians... They prorably don't want non-russian speaking folks to get into their secreets . No way to pass that Captch if you dont know russian (it is number written in text so you have to know to read it ).

1.1 Remove the native file. (System \ app \ MTCWeather.apk)

Well, no luck for me
I have renamed the original apk and copy the file you gave to the system folder. Gave 644 permissions and deleted the data folder as indicated. Reboot unit but widget doesn't update and the app either. The app seems the same and I can't find any settings to change the source.
Don't know if I'm missing something...
