Weather Syncing With Custom ROMS

I'm running the SkyNote 4.3 Note3 ROM and cannot get the weather to sync to my Gear. The ROM uses the accuweather widget from the note 3, but for some reason the weather will not sync. When I used the leaked AT&T 4.3 ROM with the "older" accuweather widget it worked fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated to get this sorted.

I too have been trying to get the weather to sync to my gear. I'm running sky note a well version 2. I have only had my gear for a week now and have only been using it with the sky note rom. I'm starting to wonder if the weather issue has something to do with sky note. Only way to find out is to switch roms.

same problem i had with null_14 Rom.

You have to use Accuweather on your phone to sync.

I thought that null_14 would fix the issue but no luck. I think it might be due to the N3 version of the widget I have installed.

I've come to the same conclusion. I tried to install both versions of accuweather with no success. I've since gone back to the leaked stock version of 4.3 and it syncs fine

Got ya. Im on Verizon so I dont think that ROM will work for me.

The problem is skynote does not have the locations settings for weather just the refresh time thats why you can not sync weather on the gear

That makes sense. Do you think its just the apk for the weather widget that they have loaded with the rom?

Yes cause the missing item is in settings thats the rom i was on till i couldnt sync weather

I have exactly the same issue with DN 3.1.1. It used to work at some point, but I can't quite remember which rom I was running at that time. I'm fairly certain that the accuweather widget will have been the same one that I'm using now. So it could possibly be something else in the rom itself.

Which international ROM? Does it have Note 3 apps like air command and such?

It's N7105XXUEMK5-V1 no haven;t found one with Note 3 features that has bluetooth tether and locations setting both now that would be a perfect rom

On null_ 15, having problems syncing with the weather on my S4 running an international-based ROM. Going to try restoring a known good Weather Widget from a T-Mobile-based ROM.

Flashed a new ROM this morning. Its 4.3 stock but everything works with the Gear. Weather syncs and bluetooth tether too!

Im on a sprint note 2 and the weather sync works with a stock 4.3 Rom. If I install any 4.3 rom with the note 3 apps baked in then weather stops syncing to my gear and I get "Weather Daemon EUR has stopped" evrytime I try to enable weather sync in Gear Manager. The weather widget works fine on my homescreen though. I'm going to try and replace the accuweather apk with one from a stock 4.3 rom and see what happens.

Make sure you guys have:

AccuweatherPhone2013.apk
WeatherWidgetDaemon.apk

Both in /system/app.


Otherwise, clear data & cache for WeatherProvider in Settings -> Application settings on your phone.. Then reboot.



If weather daemon is crashing for what ever reason, replace it with a known working one. Something from a standard gear compatible rom obviously.
