No problem! :)
Probably quite a bit, I torture my phone a lot. I've hard bricked it twice as well XD A straight flash should be just fine but I always recommend flashing the ROM's stock kernel before switching to another one. That's usually the best way to do it.
I'm having issues entering recovery when my security is on..and I tried a few different recoveries. I am thinking to format data then restore my nandroid backup (theone5os ROM), then flash your kernel..I'm guessing that should work in theory?

With a decrypted device you can always switch between OS (8.1 > 9 > 8.1) or roms (AOSP > OOS) with Treble or not with any problem, just apply always the no-verity after each rom flash (dirty flash or clean flash)

I am encrypted and want to stay that way, the only issue is that I can't enter TWRP with my password..so I was thinking to format data and restore nandroid, but I'm guessing that will also "restore" the issue. Haha

I'm tired of removing security when I want to flash something via TWRP then losing all of my google pay cards..and redoing security all over.

When you are encrypted, before changing for a different rom source (like AOSP > OOS > AOSP), you must remove all security protection before wiping the new rom.

Remove : PIN, Fingerprint, Trust Face

Normally don't encounter your previous issues anymore (of course with a recent TWRP with full compatibility support like blu_spark or the TWRP by sian) ;)

That's what I always do. The problem is to flash anything else like kernel or some other package I need to remove all security which is annoying. TWRP by sian or blu_spark don't decrypt my pin/pass. Only thing left is to format data which I don't want to do due to some two factor apps which I am using for work which don't restore with titanium backup.

Strange. What ROM are you on? TWRP decrypts just fine for me on crDroid Pie. I've used blu_spark recovery for a while now and have had no issues.

Version: Weeb Kernel v1.12
Downloads: Treble || Non Treble
Changelog:
- Upstreamed to Linux 4.4.162.
- Remove CAF Boost Framework. This allows the kernel to do it's thing on pretty much every ROM that uses the framework. (Backup your system, if on non-treble, or vendor, if on treble, if you want to, but imo, it's not the greatest thing anyway.)
- CFQ is now the default io scheduler. (Maple still there)
- You can now select the fallback frequencies for boost yourself. :)
- Schedutil updated again, this time properly.
- CPU and GPU Underclocks removed as they don't provide any (noticeable) benefits.
- Some under the hood not so relevant changes. (Mainly cleaning up of unnecessary stuff and micro-optimizations)
Thanks for removing overclock ???

Thanks for this kernel man. Installed in pixenos and fixed my main problem that was driving me crazy! The scrolling lag is fixed<3. I'll see how battery goes but my main problem with pie rom is fixed.

What is the average sot with this kernel.

Sent from my OnePlus 5 using XDA Labs
It depends entirely on the person's usage. I mostly just browse Chrome, watch videos on Youtube, text people on WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, read stuff on apps like Adobe Reader, etc. and I get 8+ hours pretty much every time with mixed WiFi + Mobile Data(Terrible cell reception btw. OxygenOS showed me like 5% green bars in the graph in every cycle, mostly Yellow and Orange).
