Any apps combined with an IR Blaster that we can use to replace the built in IR ?

I'm still using my M8!

same reason why I have been hesitant to upgrade to newer phones.

I'm so used to remote controlling my room Fans, TV, PC, etc... from the phone

It is very interesting, HTC and Samsung power off the ir blaster since 2016. None of these phones have it since 2016. It was very usefull feature. I can not change my one m9 plus becouse of this reason.

Ir blaster.

Hi I have the Same problem. I Recently upgraded to a note8 from a HTC m9 -Totally forgot about i r blaster: I use a harmony Hub to control all i r devices now and it works fine. it comes with an i r transmitter So you can control items in cabinets etc. I just wish more phones had i r blasters built in.

Ir blaster use.

I went from evo, desire, m7 to m9. I've just replaced the battery in my M9, and we'll replace it again when necessary. I plan to make this phone last indefinitely. I will not downgrade to the u11 or m10. Why would I pay flagship phone price for a phone that doesn't even have an IR blaster. The problem with both HTC and Samsung is that they use the peel app to gauge how much the ir blaster is used. Most people use a better quality third-party app such as anymote. So this is a poor way to determine the popularity of the IR blaster.
