what are the odds of getting root on this phone

Ok sorry I thought I'd try to chip in, thanks for your efforts I and everybody else appreciates it

its no probelm , i apprechiate every help , also ive created a g7 telegram group we did this for g6 too and it was rly helpfull if anyone likes feel free to join.

So if we could make a twrp for it does that mean we can get root or would it just be that we would have twrp for when we get root?

so i can tell you steps

get someone more experienced with lg kdz to help me extract boot.img from it
2nd let me do my work
3rd twrp , root, profit :laugh:

If someone can find a way to flash twrp, then root will be achieved or if a kernel exploit is found, we could get root then use something like flash fire to flash twrp, with bootloader unlocked already of course

Im still on my V20 I'm just seeing what gets rooted before I upgrade im digging the G7 but I need root lol

Also haven't been able to test it yet it's that speaker stuff they did a gimmick or does it actually sound pretty good? Well pretty good as far as built in speakers go

I think that might be lineage OS.

I saw in another thread of his that he has twrp in beta or alpha stage with the euro model so I guess that's the one.

yep this was pure aosp as it works best , on lineage and rr wideangle cam doesnt work and notch is better on aosp, also twrp is not in alpha state anymore its rock solid exept that i didnt managed yet to make it persistant

I don't know if it helps, but I have the Moto z2force with googles new fancy seamless updates (a and b partitions) and twrp as to be flashed to boot since there is no real recover partition anymore on the z2

its rly kind of you that you want to help , but that wont help me sadly , i know how it works but i cant get stock to boot with it , its not a matter of not knowing how to its matter of time and testing and i was feeling lazy today also im not into stock and so i tell myself you will look into it later and later since i would need to reflash my phone for that

Here try this gcam port it's for the LG V20, V30, G5, and G6, it's also had success on a few other phones. I use it on lineage OS 15.1 on my V20 and its fantastic and also allows the use of wide angle, it probably won't work but I mean it would be worth a try

At the moment no only the European model that got an official bootloader unlock from LG can be rooted
