Hey guys,
what do you think is the best things to pre order with the s23U?

Charger? what Wattage?
Cable?
Wireless charger type/wattage?
screen protector?

I see on Samsungs website that they can discount other products... did anyone do this? I was thinking of the 44mm watch5 BT only... thought?
I dont think they have their watch5-pro on there.... so are they flogging old products to the fans?

I am undecided as of yet, but I am coming from a s10+, so a big jump.... but I really do like the physical dual sim, and the option of a 3.5mm jack

Charging: 45W
Cable: don't know, but the USB of the s23u has type-c 3.2
Wireless charging:
Type: Qi/PMA
Can charge 4.5W in reverse wireless
As I did some research it can charge with 15W but I'm not sure.

(this can be misleading/false?)

Well very misleading, charger must be PPS and we still do not know if its going to be any faster than 25W, charging speed in s22 25W vs 45W was a joke

I got Samsung's 45 watt charger last year and it's a beast. Not bigger or anything but the cable is longest and thickest one I ever seen on a charger. But I just looked it up and it says out of stock.

@sunshining

Can you post some initial impressions in the battery life thread, would be good for those waiting on our units. Good or bad but information is pretty scarce at the moment

The battery life has me a little concerned. One of the YouTube's I watch had to charge the device well before getting close to a full days use.

If the device can't make it through an average length work day without needing to be charged. That's going to be very disappointing for me.

Just watched that. You see the screen cover come off but then she doesnt say what charge level she is starting at. Also i imagine (hope) lots of recording, photos and user time end up getting edited out so a way above average day for most users. Would have been nice if she included the battery use screen shot.

I have a snesky feeling proper battery reviews may be under an embargo

I ordered one but I hesitate to cancel it...
In fact the pre-release offer here is pretty good:

U have the upgraded version for the same price.
U have 150 euros bonus for your present device.
And for my s21+ they give me 400 euro...

So this will be 900 euros for the Ultra.

But my problem is the size of it. I love videography and photography but it's so big... i don't even know if it fits in my pockets.

I was looking for the s23+ but the differences are not so amazing... and the price with the offer will be only 135 euros away form the Ultra's offer.

One more Bonus: it will come before the release (the 8th).

Surely it's way too soon the have any kind of review, her battery will still be calibrating?

I'll take what she has to say with a pinch of salt until the phone has has atleast 2 weeks to settle in.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
What I would like to touch on in this thread is actually the special Variant of the SD8 Gen2 for the galaxy devices. From numerous videos/posts/Benchmarks I've already started seeing a pattern... The special version for the galaxy phones that is even clocked higher, is being outperformed on average by the normal standard version that all the other phones are using. Now I don't know about you guys, but at this point I view it as classic Samsung ****ery... Only Samsung can go and get a special version of something and make the special version be worse than the standard version😂😂 before anyone jumps me, I know the phone literally came out, and there's time for fixing up whatever needs to be, but let me just remind you that none of the other phones rocking the same SOC needed touchups in the SOC department... They just worked out the box. Also to be more specific I'm talking about multicore performance and a final average FPS results in some cases, but that's already a negative kind of deviation that shouldn't be happening to begin with. Also I haven't seen any updates since the release, but before the release there were some leaked benchmarks of the 8gb/12gb variants, where the lower ram variant was outperforming the higher variant, that's another thing I'd like to see compared now officially.

Edit:

So I was wondering why the special galaxy version of the SD8 gen 2 is getting ****ed by the standard version and the answer is simple "Samsung even fabricates the 4nm chip for its use, and the rest of the world gets the standard TSMC-made System on a Chip (SoC)" so again Samsung decided that for the sake of marketing bragging rights, they'll once again **** everyone with their special version... Lovely. Now I just need an explanation for the 8GB/12GB variant difference.

After reading all these 13 pages and many reviews online (but i prefer users feedbacks as it's more real and meaningful for me than press or Android tech reviews) and i gotta say Samsung seems to kill it this year !
I own a S22 Ultra Exynos and wasn't really thinking about upgrading but ii'm so hyped right now that i have to get this masterpiece ! So tonight i will buy it... Gosh i'm weak ah ah ;)

I think it's much of the same as far as the Ultra goes. I have the s22 ultra and my gripe is battery life. Improve battery life on the s23 and I am all in.

So i' bought mine yesterday in a store for 150€ eh eh (couldn't wait any longer ah ah) and jeez... Samsung definitely released the ultra we're all waited for ! I mean, i was thinking coming from an S22 Ultra that i will not see so much differences but i was so, so wrong :

    - The phone feels really premium and i loved that they curved the edges a little less, flater screen is best forr me.
    - The screen/panel is supposed to be the same as the S22 Ultra, but it feels even better !
    - External speakers are just really really good with nice bass, it's loud and clear !
    - it's smooth as f*ck (thanks to the SD 8 Gen 2 who just killed and burried the Exynos 2200 ah ah)
    - I played a little bit with the camera and i already felt the difference : Every shot feels like a piece of art ah ah
    - I played non stop with it (to reinstall all my apps, settings, pics/videos and stuff) for about 5 hours non stop and the battery was almost not draining, it's just day & night with the S22 Ultra (i was forced to disable 5G and 120hz because it was draining too fast the battery and i mean, what the purpose of having a premium smartphone ii we can't use all these great functions... But now, i can without worrying about the battery).

I could go on and on but to resume, i think we hold between our hands the most perfect and achieved smartphone ever release by Samsung; It's gonna be a best seller i"m sure !

First thing, I absolutely love the flatter screen, nearly completely flat. Can't wait for them to go all the way so we can buy regular screen protectors again.

Never owned one but this is most Note-like S-Series yet. It has the old school boxy feel which I actually like.

The camera is a big improvement in my opinion. Skin tones look better and images are generally sharper. I like that we get a 12MP, 50mp and 200MP mode. Also that Raw supports 50MP. Side note if you didn't know, Raw Camera is now in the 'More' section in the main camera but unfortunately you can't drag it out. Hopefully in an update.
Front facing isn't bad but it's a letdown that they dropped the 40MP front facing. I know MP doesn't necessarily indicate the quality of the image but it's definitely a lot less consistent.

Fingerprint scanner is a mixed bag. Every time I upgrade I feel like I need to retrain my brain how to activate it. It doesn't feel consistent between upgrades even if you register it perfectly and at different angles.

Battery is definitely improved. In my use case I'm getting about 20% more battery by the end of the day. Wish the battery was bigger.

Heat-wise it seems this year it doesn't get as warm. S22U would get warm under extended workloads. While setting up the S23U i didn't even notice a change.

Speakers seem clearer, maybe a bit louder.

Screen looks great as always. Wish we got adaptive resolution as well but maybe some day.

Packing is super lackluster. I'm not talking about the materials but that tiny image of the phone on the big front of that box? I feel like for the money the presentation could have been more. And more can be less, look at last year, it wasn't much but how they designed the front art made it feel premium.

Sidenote and irrelevant to the phone itself, I was so happy to see this year that my rugged case and screen protector played nice. Screen protector aligns perfectly and the case doesn't tug thanks to the flatter screen.
