What does Fastboot mean?

I know this sounds "nooby" or like a noob question...but what exactly does FASTBOOT mean? like I have seen it on my of the roms ive flashed in the Reboot menu, but I never knew what It really meant...

Short answer is, its like a hibernation mode on your computer. Doesn't actually close stuff down, just puts it into a super deep sleep then turns back on.
I have mine unchecked. When i power off my phone i want all aps to close and everything to completely shut off. Then when the phone starts up everything has to start runing from scratch.

oh okay. that makes sense. is it better to fully power off the device instead of fastboot?

I seem to think so.
If my phone is giving me problems a reboot usually fixes stuff.
