hi,

I got a arkon kit (with powered cradle, loud speaker, and rj input for tomtom wired gps receiver). This means that your gps is always powered, as is your xda, from 1 cable to the cradle from lighter socket. Never run your xda battery low again, or indeed your gps is always on, no charging like the BT models.

Works an absolute treat as a sat nav unit, also listen to mp3's, make voice calls (this is not so clear, but does work, but I have a nokia phone and car kit too for voice calls)

Have a look at this on ebay, like mine, in fact from same seller in uk!

I have never seen a serial GPS that has an RJ-45 (or RJ-11 come to that). They all tend to have 9-pin DIN or 6-pin (keyboard connector-type) DIN. So, why not just buy whichever GPS you like that has a serial port, and MAKE a cable?

Or get a BlueTooth GPS and not use a cable at all?
