So was trying to restore my orignal System using TWRP. Now when I turn the Kindle fire on it, It comes up and says Kindle fire and will not go any further. I can boot to fastboot with the Fast boot cable. But I don't know what steps to fix this thing. Any help?

FLASHING BACK TO STOCK:
** FIND THE FILES WE BACKED UP IN STEP #1 OR DOWNLOAD NEW ONES FROM THE RECOVERY THREAD HERE: **
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2035047

Once you have these files (we'll name them boot.img/recovery.img and system.img for the purpose of these instructions, but they could be different on your system).

Plug in your fastboot cable and reboot so that you see the fastboot screen and enter the following commands:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot boot.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash system system.img # This one will take a few minutes
fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot

I have my backups, And restore them using this method. And I run into the same issue after reboot. The only way to get it to boot back up is to restore twrp and re-install the ROM again. And this is great, but I would like to revert back to the Original Amazon OS if possible for testing purposes.

Do you get any errors or messages when you run the commands? This should restore all the things you need to get going again.

I wonder if one of Hashcodes testers can confirm if they ever did restore?

No errors, On my end it seems to load the files fine, Just would be nice to go back for warranty to test purposes.

Agreed.

I wonder if the drive mounts so you could put the full Kindle Recovery image in the kindleupdates(?) folder.

After you have run the commands, I wonder if pressing the power button five times will force a factory reset?

Okay so after much trial and error. I have figured out what I was doing wrong. When i first booted in to twrp I created a backup of my kindle. After installing two roms and wanting to see if I could go back I did a factory reset and attempted to restore my backup. I kept getting a failed error. After reinstalling the cm10 rom again. I went straight to restoring my backup without doing a factory reset. This worked perfect and loaded my previous OS.

Seems that I need the .img files and the thread to download but it doesnt work anymore. (#404)
