I can confirm no improvments was made in the latest chinese update 1.20. Its as bad as before. Its ok when you are home in a dark room, but as soon as you are on the move outside it becomes very unreliable.

Don’t have any complaints even in light outside environment.
In screen fingers works as good as in dark or home/work environment.

I am sorry but I do not believe in this method...
Remember when you create a fingerprint you scan your finger multiple of times even from the edges etc.
Theoretically it could only lead to even slower scanning.

Anyway success rate have improved a lot the last 2 days not sure why...
Hopefully its learning and getting better for each day. I still hope vivo will solve the speed.
one frustrating thing is the screen dont unluck directly even when the scanner have read your finger for instance I cant put off my finger before it gets unlocked and it unlock...
I hope next update will come with some improvements regarding fingerprint scanner cause I think it does not live up fully to its potential right now.
Sorry but that just isn't true. What takes more time is the animation. If you press slightly the sensor and pull the finger, you will see that he will unlock nonetheless, you don't have to keep pressing....more, the more you press, the worse the reading is (don't know why, maybe slight bend of the screen distorts the image).

You can also try to disable the animation effects and you will see how fast it really is....

Yes there is some kind of glitch in the software I agree, you often push longer then you have to cause the screen does not indicate that its unlocked and it does not unlock unless you take the finger of, you can of course put the finger of faster but its bigger risk that it does not do it on the first try then. Yeah Vivo have something to work on, maybe this was better in previous updates, as it is now I would describe the fingerprint scanner as horrible, i think there is big possibility to improve with software as it is now since it have very visible problems with the screen not unlocking unless you remove finger from the screen.

I have seen reports from many sites that fingerprint scanners have problem when it gets cold, mainly due to the fact our finger and skin gets dry and harder to read have you tried this ?
this can be one reason why I experience higher fail rate when outside.
Blowing some hot steam from mouth on the surface can help if you try multiple times without success.. I think the ultrasonic solutions will most likely not have this problem.
