What is the H symbol on desire?

ok, is the H symbol i keep seeing on my desire is that "3g" or what? I have the telstra model. A8183

H= HSDPA 3.5G (basically faster than 3G)

HSDPA HSUPA HSPA

Different Country / Networks use different forms of H
Google it for your country / network
