How can you be on 4G and connected to an extender? Not a criticism, I honestly don't understand the concept. I've had this happen and I don't have an extender at my house...

Simply means that one or two of your neighbors have one, the little house means you are connected to a network extender the 4g means you have 4g where you live. The two are not mutually exclusive

You don't have to have WiFi on to connect to a network extender it's run through the cell card not wifi

They aren't talking about WiFi... They are talking about an IN house network extender. Think of a traditional cell tower, miniaturized for use in your house...
