Pure Nexus can be easily modified. Anything based on most recent NMF26V build should be modifiable using the Pure Nexus files from the libandroid thread, including the unmodified NMF26V build. See my posts there for instructions.

I know about purenexus, that's why I put "yes" against both unrooted & rooted.
