Mine are ghost....

I dunno... I sold my Note 4 while on my Note 7 honeymoon and now my marriage is ending!!!!!!

Probably Pixel XL 128GB. Since i'm fully Googled (Android Auto, Wear, possibly Home) it could work out nicely.

I need dual sim but I don't feel like doing another Sammy right now so I'm skipping the 7edge dual sim. Considered the Axon but there is little development there. I've decided to go with the Oneplus 3 until the spring phones hit. Dual sim, lots of development, should work until spring when I'll likely move to the latest thing as usual. I'll check you gents on the Note 8 forums when that hits next year.

No phone can replace the Note with it's pen, but you may want to look into Huawei's Mate 9 which drops next month.
I don't use the pen, so I think the Lg V20 is the next best option. Just my 2 cents from a non stylus user. I just like the big screen, I liked the edge option to have other apps, but seems like that can be done on the second screen of the V20 too.

Give your daughter a new phone and keep the N4, it has no competition out there. ;)
lol that's what I told my wife, who gave her Note 4 to our daughter. I'm like, she only uses that phone for Pokemon Go and tethers Wifi off us, so why not give her a 100-200 USD phone that she can use for that and have us at least use a more decent phone.

2 things
1)
first excuses I initiated a new thread(I am trying to cancel)
I am thinking over huawei note 8.
6,6 inches, external sd, external stylus, super amoled screen, good photo.

2) what about an external stylus?

Hard to say, still have my note 4 and as good as it was its kinda dated...would be hard to use for months on end.

Could go back to a 6P or note 5 but the 5 doesn't have enough storage.

Could pick up an s7 edge but hate the edge screen and the S7 is way to tiny.

As for new phones...there just isnt much.

V20 looks okay but kinda overly large for a 5.7 inch device and just looks clunky.

Zenfone 3 deluxe w/snapdragon 821 on paper is killer but yet to be proven in real world.

And the locked BL on both the V20 amd ZF3 woukd need to ne unlockable before Id even consider either of them

Pixel is just flat out crap and WAY overpriced for what you get.

And none has an Spen of course.

There really isnt anything that can compete with the Note for me personally

I'm back on my Nexus 6P (made by Huawei), which I've had since January. So I've been watching those forums quite a bit. A warning about Huawei. They have awful customer service. Horror stories out number the "good job" stories 100 to 1. So if you get a Huawei, make sure you get some kind of warranty that does not involve Huawei, like Squaretrade, etc.

I knew that going into my 6P, since I was following the forums before I bought it. That is THE reason I bought it directly from Google, so I could get their Nexus Protect plan for it.

Thinking about getting an S7 Edge, but I'm wondering if I should wait for their replacement offer. No updates on the German Samsung site yet, I'm wondering whether I should just order from Amazon or will the official replacements come at a discount?
Damn I'm gonna miss the spen...

If y'all want any phone that compares closest to the Note 7, then you gotta sacrifice at least 1-2 features.

S7 /Edge? You're sacrificing the S-Pen and that size difference
Note 5? You're sacrificing the waterproof capabilities and expandable storage
Note 4? You're sacrificing waterproof capabilities and the the modern day specs

I'm going to get the S7. I had the S7 Edge previously but i don't really care about the Edge anymore. Just a gimmick I never got a full grasp on consistently.

Thinking about it, the curved screen is what I liked least about the Note 7 so it'll probably be a normal S7. Note 5 never officially launched over here.

Samsung needs to step up and offer a solution for an Interim phone till the New inflammable Note comes out. I sold my Note 5. I don't want an Edge 7 permanently. I don't want to buy an Edge 7 which is what they are suggesting basically.

I'll use an E7 in the short run till the New Note comes out.

I went ahead an ordered an Xperia XZ. It's certainly not a comparable replacement, but it's only phone available that meets my desired specs (especially now that the fingerprint scanner can be enabled): water resistant, decent camera, strong battery, and USB C. The 7 was my first Note, so while the stylus was nice to have, I am sure I can live without it again. I previously had the Sony Xperia Z and Z3, and both were excellent devices.

I also already sold my 6P, so there's no going back.

Also, the XZ comes in blue!

Likely back to my Note 4 and wait for Note 8 next year and see but depends because I had given it to my wife to replace her Nexus 4 that can't even last a day anymore on a charge lol. Either going to buy the LG V20 or Pixel XL (if I decide to move away from Samsung completely) or I will maybe just buy my wife the OP3 and use my Note 4 again until next year. I really love the s-pen and that makes it hard to choose another flagship since none offer a stylus of any sort. I refuse to go with the S7/S7E as I want (and prefer) to have 64GB internal storage minimum and I refuse to buy a new phone on a yearly basis. Damn decisions! LOL

I tried the Galaxy S7 while I had it as a loaner device. It's a nice phone, but within a day of using it I went back to my original firebomb Note 7 to wait for the new one to arrive. S7/S7edge are solid phones, but not good enough to make me want to deal with Touch Wiz or go back to micro USB. Note 7 was good enough for me to live with Touch Wiz For me it's Note 7 or no Samsung. I will miss Samsung Pay, though...
