yea i thought that but theres things stopping me like the price, the inability to install apks, im basically locked into the apple ecosystem and ik apple has improved on its customizability but its still no match to android and the huge notch like make it smaller i dont mind it but bro apple does it have to be that big?
Unfortunately you would have to wait a couple of years for apple to play catch up with android, like 15 years. Or give up that smartphone design and focus on what features and customization options you get.

Redmi k40 pro seems the best out of those two. Then again, if all you care about is gaming, how about an Asus ROG 5? Way bigger battery, faster charging, way more optimized for gaming, compatible with a cooler accessory. Should provide a better gaming experience.
Thanks, I guess I should start considering gaming phones then

Recommend me a phone under 40k pkr (150 usd).

Hello everyone👋

I am new to forum.Don't know much about smartphones. Actually this one is gonna be my first ever smartphone.I just want an overall good mobile that has all the basic functions with sufficient storage so I don't have to worry about using a sd card and doesn't hangs/heats alot like the current one I am using(it's not mine btw). Its a plus if the camera is any good though doesn't really matters alot.

I live in South Asia (Pakistan) and am looking for a smartphone between 30k-40k rupees though can extend my budget to 45k.

P. S. Sorry for my poor English and vocabulary.English isn't my first language.

Additional info:I just got admitted to medical college So that's why I need a good phone.Classes start in March.

Welcome to XDA. Please read the Forum Rules, and don't forget Rule 3:
3. Post using a clear and descriptive subject and message.

You're most likely to receive a helpful answer to your question, if you use a short subject title that describes your problem and a message that explains in detail, what your problem is and what you've done to try solving it.
You need to provide more context and detail in order to get the answer you need. What region of the world are you in? What features or functions are you looking for?

Take note that a portion of installed RAM chip ( usually about 1GB or so ) is reserved to Android OS framework. So how much RAM do you really need? As much as you really need is the right answer: for Android 11 it's 4 GB. The best answer is as much as you can get.

Well, there are certain factors associated with this. likewise :-
Android or iOS

Vivo X fold plus Vs Xiaomi Mix fold 2 Vs Oppo find N2

Which phone should I buy next in these foldables? My first foldable and one will be bought from China giztop tradinhshenzhen etc

So far Vivo X fold plus is my most likely choice after viewing so many reviews of the phone and the software origin os 3 I think I can live with the minor problems by using adb to help. My only gripe was location history on Google maps not working, BUT I have since found alternatives that will work hopefully. Everything else like notification issues etc can be fixed via adb I've read Vivo has promised 4 os updates on the fold plus iirc. I'm not bothered about android auto never use it anyway. I open Google maps app without needing android auto mode. Never use Google voice assistant. Ads I'm used to on MIUI so should be no different.

I do have a Xiaomi Mi 9 phone at the moment since new 2019. The phone still works fine but now it won't receive any new updates and the memory 64gb is not much. It is starting to stutter sometimes. So mix fold 2 would be ideal choice as I love the look of MIUI however the thinness/fragility of the phone and inferior cameras compared the x fold plus has placed it in 3rd position. Also Xiaomi being more popular does support bootloader unlock and rooting so that is a major bonus. However I've not rooted or blu my Xiaomi Mi 9 so I don't think it appeals to me that much as I don't like custom ROMs based off aosp. Xiaomi.eu ROMs only support upto the CN ROM supports upto. The way Xiaomi release phones so quick it leaves your flagship in the dust half a year later. So my mi 9 was redundant within half a year to Mi 9t pro or mi 10 whichever was sooner.

Oppo find N2 I love everything about it however the outer screen size is just unusable for me as I've always preferred large screen phones. I don't want to be unfolding always as well when sometimes you want to quickly search something on the outside screen.

Can anyone shed some light on problems and positives you have had with any of these phones. Especially things that you really want to work but that don't work on these phones.

hey everyone, so im in 2023 now and still using a galaxy 2014 note 4 n910t
i have two of them and theyre still my favorite they'll be my apocalypse book readers and informational knowledge video hoard backups now (with micro usb thumb drives ofcourse because theyre 16gb internal each ) but, but im too lazy to manually rebuild android and
i just want to play some apps that require atleast android 8.0, i dont wanna ditch the snote apps for a custom rom either and i tried spoofing the build.prop to get around this apps minimum requirement but it didnt work
so i need a new phone
and im freakin overwhelmed i dont mind something old still but

3g of ram and the quad core snapdragon uh 2.7 ghz processor is plenty for me but i know everything newer these days is so much better lol aslong as i dont downgrade that shiz i'll be happy

F*** 5g lol aslong as i can unlocked gsm t mobile atleast and or verizon with a 4g sim
ATLEAST ANDROID 8.0
easily rootable and lots of development, mods and fixes
cheap enough to buy a backup eventually to surgically repair the main one day for under 350 or 150 w ould be even nicer, but am somewhat variably open there
i barely text or call just wanna read books play 8.0 apps and open 100 tabs in the browser to conduct investigative research. i dont mind waiting a few secs low ram and slow processors too too much
and with a couple years of sturdy withstanding and lasting durability reviews would be nice
i'd like something i could get to the "unremoveable" battery and motherboard atleast without too much hassle though, i want another 9 yearer for myself basically

ima miss the removeable battery and probably stylus too but
...id consider a tablet too.. even something older but could manually flash a upgraded android version system onto. doin resaerch but this is where the experts are

any suggestions? :S

World compatible 4G/LTE frequencies and Galaxy S22/23 size, but less expensive.

My requirements are 4G/LTE world-compatible. Specifically, N. America + SE Asia. Size should not be larger than Galaxy S7, S22, S23, so that it fits nicely in my pocket. Most phones mentioned here are larger and/or don't support a lot of 4G/LTE frequencies, requiring more country-specific versions. I know that we are only talking mm size differences in some cases but it makes a difference. I carried around an S8 for a couple years (before it died) and hated it even though it's only a little bit longer than my S7.

If money was no object I would just get an S22 or 23, but I don't want to spend $500-$1000 on a phone that goes everywhere with me and could easily get damaged, lost, or stolen. Support for 5G would be nice but 4G/LTE is still quite adequate for my needs. My budget is $200-$400 US. I'm thinking that maybe an s10e G970F/DS will work and the F can be easily unlocked to take custom ROMs. There are some for sale on ebay.

Hello, I`m looking for phone with following specifications:

    1) Mediatek SoC based...
It's your choice, but I find Qualcomm to be better.
The Moto G Power 2022 (Mediatek) was a downgrade from the Moto G Power 2021 (Qualcomm 662).

Can someone answer, a jailbreaked iPhone 14 pro, or Google Pixel 7 Pro or Samsung S23?

I don't really care about cameras, since I never use them, I only care about performance and display, and modding and hacks
Ok, first of all, you can't jailbreak the iPhone 14 Pro. That device is preinstalled with an iOS version that doesn't have a working jailbreak yet. Second, an Android will always have better modding potential as long as its bootloader can be unlocked.

So, to answer your question, you're going to have to narrow it down to either the PIxel 7P or S23. Assuming you're talking about the normal Galaxy S23, comparing its chipset to Pixel 7P shows that the S23 chipset is way better. It's newer and more powerful (higher frequencies and lower lithography). But consider the 7P's Tensor G2 chip is still pretty powerful and can fit all your needs. You can also compare its benchmarks (courtesy of https://www.gsmarena.com). I don't know how accurate these data are though.
    화면 캡처 2023-03-06 094143.png

The S23's AMOLED screen is also 250nits brighter on peak brightness compared to the 7P. But note the 7P's display has 1440p resolution while the S23 has 1080p, so images could look sharper on the 7P's display.

One other thing to note is that the 7P offers 12GB RAM Options while the S23 only has 8GB but note that 8GB should still be plenty for your needs.

The battery is also something to note here. S23 has a measly 3900mAh battery compared to the 7P boasting a 5000mAh battery

Now consider the modding section. The Pixel 7P being a bit older has a better community. The S23 was not released too long ago so its development is still growing. I quickly skimmed the forums of both devices and the 7P has way more threads and things about modding (one example being a custom kernel). It also has more custom ROM options than the growing S23 as of right now. (You can take a look by clicking the "development" filter on both device forums)

I think this should be enough information no? Now you decide.

    Hope this helps ;)

You might want to go for a used Xperia 5 II/1III and up.
The 5 II has official Lineage support and the 1 III has trees up on the official org, so it will probably get official as well.

Excellent, I hope this will attract some discussion on new devices so new threads won't be opened.

I am not looking for a new phone right now, well maybe not depending on the outcome of HTC repairing my Sensation I guess. I sure hope to find out tomorrow. I think if I was going to get a replacement now I would probably get the SGS3 over the OneX. I really don't like the non-removable battery and maybe worse, no SD slot. I know why they did it for economic reasons but I am just not going to go that direction. Batteries do not last forever and their maximum charge level goes down over time. I want to be able to plug the SD into my computer and do a local backup. I also want to be able to get a bigger or faster SD if one comes out.
I am used to Sense but I am sure I could get used to Touchwiz as well, and I just read in the portal that ROM Cleaner works with the SGS3 now, as long as I can rid of the bloat I am content. I am sure that when my contract is done in a year there will be something newer and better out anyways. ;)

I hope it does aswell. These forums definitely have too many of those threads being created

I think I'd choose the S3 aswell to be honest. Even though the One X is a powerful phone, the S3 can quite easily out perform it, as it can with most phones.

The only time I'd be looking to upgrade is when mine become redundant, which with having an S2 (which can still keep up with the newest flagship devices) and Xperia S, I won't need to upgrade for a while I don't think.

Never owned a tablet before.. flirting with the idea of a galaxy tab 2 10.1. As of current, I'm all good with my s3 but I'm kinda interested in what this next galaxy note 2 will bring. Guess I'm some sort of galaxy fan.. ever since my vibrant :p
