They report it to be much dimmer than samsung in general use
I'm not really sure - what looks like your best option right now? Samsung has 1750 adaptive, Pixel has 1600 on adaptive. Pixel has ROMs though, and they both have great cameras. Both cross P3 too.

Could you please send me a.link to the Xiaomi 13 evolutionX ROM?

Qin F21 Pro vs. Qin F22 Pro.

Pros of F21 Pro (pun intended):

Small height (but still would not fit a shirt chest pocket, I suppose). F22 Pro is as tall as a usual modern slatephone.
• Has a working LineageOS port for sure. (No missing drivers, for real? can't believe it). Does F22 Pro have such a port too maybe? I recall some WIP mentions.
Prominent buttons. The F22 keyboard resembles me that of Nokia 3500, which is far from being comfortable from my experience.

Cons of F21 Pro:

No volume buttons. Can be circumvented with mapping them to long-presses somewhere with Button Mapper or so, but still pretty meh.

Am I missing something? Did some other decent Android keypad smartphones come out recently maybe? Years before, virtually all of them I've seen were crappy in some way: 2 MP cameras, scarcity of buttons (still relevant there though), old/restricted Android versions and questionable rootability, even buggy keypad controllers. Only maybe Snopow M2, Discovery A17, nTel Nova, and FinePower F1 arose above this gloomland a bit. And now finally some competitive hardware.

Serious confusion about buying a new phone

I'm planning to buy the Poco F5 Pro. Coming from the Poco F1, the development community was amazing about the Poco F1, but at the same time, the device tree for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor isn't yet available. On the other hand, the Nothing Phone 2 comes with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. How long is it going to take for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor device tree to be released?

Hi! I had an iphone 11, which i broke, but i really liked the software and the whole apple brand. The problem is that it's going to have just 2 years support and a bit the battery. My budget is around 600 usd. My question is, should i buy ip11, or maybe an iphone 12, or an android(sadly i have bad experience with android so i'm not really sure about that). If anyone has experienced iphone and android, i would like to hear your opinion, about which is better, and if there's any android bradn which software is similiar to iphone's (isn't laggy, etc,) Thanks for the answers!

The latest Samsung phones are powerful in terms of battery life, cameras, system smoothness, and overall user experience. So, if you are ready for a new experience with Android phones, you can try the Samsung S22.

Hello!
Sorry if I wrote in the wrong place.
What snapdragon 8 Gen 1 + mobile can you recommend that has kernel, has AOSP, has support, has update, has GPL?
I've been using MIUI for half a year, neither kernel nor AOSP (12tpro_diting)
Before that I used Poco F3 with crDoid for 2 years, I miss it. (AOSP missing)

I would say pixel 8 when it comes out, it will be around 650 when it releases and has clean software, great value, and 3 years OS updates and 5 years security updates. You also get monthly feature drops that improve your phone. You can look at google pixel 7 reviews for a good idea of what it would be like.

Which of the following Xiaomi cell phones is better than the others?

Hello,
Which of the following Xiaomi cell phones is better than the others?

1- Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G

2- Xiaomi Redmi Note 12S

3- Xiaomi Poco M5s

The Redmi Note 12 4G uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 CPU, The Redmi Note 12S uses Mediatek Helio G96 CPU and the Poco M5s uses Mediatek Helio G95 CPU.

The Qualcomm is better or Mediatek?

Please be honest in your comments.

Thank you.

Hello,

I would like advice on choosing a phone or tablet (max. 7-8") that will primarily serve as GPS navigation attached to the motorcycle.
I tried some of my older phones and here are the issues I ran into:

1. Readability in direct sunlight when the phone is also charging and navigation is running. All the phones I've tried dim the display after a while.
2. Overheating, this is also related to the first point. GPS, charging, high temperatures in summer.
3. Waterproof. Today, many phones can handle it, but the problem is with charging. So ideally also wireless charging.

I don't need a good camera, super performance, 5g or NFC. Only a RELIABLE durable phone. Do you have a tip for one?

Looking for an android compatible with a plethora of custom ROMs under 400 USD.

I'm from India and I'm on the lookout for an android smartphone that's compatible with a plethora of custom ROMs including but not limited to GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, LineageOS, and many more. I also want the phone to have these features:
  1. Great durability - must survive hundreds of accidental drops and millions of tosses onto table, bed and other furniture. It must also survive water and other beverages being spilled onto it.
  2. Great battery life and screen
  3. Latest connectivity features
  4. Dual SIM and SD card slot would be great but not required.
I'm willing to make performance and storage (64GB is minimum) sacrifices for these features.

The MediaTek Helio G96 performs better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 as shown here:

Hi all, looking for a phone with decent community support for ROMs for longevity of device. Looking for 5g support and reliable wifi calling (my oneplus 5 driving me nuts with this since where I live Tmobile signal is poor). Storage can be minimum of 64gb if without SD card slot. Chipset makes no difference for me so long as it doesn't impede rooting i.e. Samsung with Qualcomm. I've heard Oneplus has been kinda meh lately so not sure if i should go back to them, and that motorola devices can hard brick quite easily if not careful (any correction is appreciated btw, i try to keep up as best i can). Any insight is greatly appreciated.

    Hi everyone!

I am looking for a relatively up-to-date phone, that has:
    - enough power to surf smoothly
    - lineageOS support
    - dimensions as small as possible (I love the Samsung S4 mini's size)
    - working VoLTE with custom ROMs/lineageOS
    - an optical zoom lens would be nice to have
    - 5G would be nice to have

    Thank you for any recommendations!

    -5g connectivity
    -8gb ram or more
-256gb (128gb if it has a microsd slot)
    -good cpu and gpu
    -atleast custom recovery support
    -min. 4500mah battery
    -good camera
    -ultrawide cam
    -maybe fast charging

i found the redmi note 11 pro plus 5g and i think it meets my needs but i wanted to ask here to be safe.

Excellent, I hope this will attract some discussion on new devices so new threads won't be opened.

I am not looking for a new phone right now, well maybe not depending on the outcome of HTC repairing my Sensation I guess. I sure hope to find out tomorrow. I think if I was going to get a replacement now I would probably get the SGS3 over the OneX. I really don't like the non-removable battery and maybe worse, no SD slot. I know why they did it for economic reasons but I am just not going to go that direction. Batteries do not last forever and their maximum charge level goes down over time. I want to be able to plug the SD into my computer and do a local backup. I also want to be able to get a bigger or faster SD if one comes out.
I am used to Sense but I am sure I could get used to Touchwiz as well, and I just read in the portal that ROM Cleaner works with the SGS3 now, as long as I can rid of the bloat I am content. I am sure that when my contract is done in a year there will be something newer and better out anyways. ;)

I hope it does aswell. These forums definitely have too many of those threads being created

I think I'd choose the S3 aswell to be honest. Even though the One X is a powerful phone, the S3 can quite easily out perform it, as it can with most phones.

The only time I'd be looking to upgrade is when mine become redundant, which with having an S2 (which can still keep up with the newest flagship devices) and Xperia S, I won't need to upgrade for a while I don't think.

I would take the Lumina. My girlfriend has one and its pretty good.

Never owned a tablet before.. flirting with the idea of a galaxy tab 2 10.1. As of current, I'm all good with my s3 but I'm kinda interested in what this next galaxy note 2 will bring. Guess I'm some sort of galaxy fan.. ever since my vibrant :p
