I think you can Enable boot sounds in almost any roms... My g2x is running CM7 nightly 221 and in the beginning it did int have any but then i Flashed in Morfic's Trinity T15 kernal and now my phone has boot sounds... I prefer 2.3.7 based roms so there you go

MIUI

MIUI is by far the easiest to change the boot sound. just go into the themes, edit current theme, then change the Boot Audio.
