you're right, tbh this is my first new phone since my blackberry priv in 2016 that ive been using on android 6 which didnt have chrome, couldnt get used to the touch screen after switching to that from my og sony z1Swiftronics
For reference, I ended up going with a 10 iii instead. It's a Tawainese XQ-BT52, and came with facebook, linkedin and netflix. I don't consider Chrome a third-party app.
Are they installed as System apps or are they removable?
Not removable but you can disable them
